Hey Mysteron, care to shed some light on this situation for us?   hihi

I honestly don't know

If he does want to leave Guns n'roses, then it probably would be a good move to tell management so they can cancel his contract. It's no good getting his manager to tell MTV. Life doesn't quite work like that  hihi

So what you're saying is that management hasn't been consulted already and knows nothing about this?

major loss for gnr. many loved b-head, many thought it was a ridiculous circus-like act that didn't belong in a rock band. but either way, he got people talking about gnr.

i went to the chicago show with my wife and she was very skeptical heading in. but she couldn't take her eyes off of b-head the whole show. she loved him. she can't wait to go see him again next month in philly.

i'm sorry but if buckethead or anyone else working if axl decides to leave on their own terms I really can't blame them. axl certainly has that same attitude.  i think ALL of the new music is great i liked the new band but you can't expect people to wait forever.  i am just surprised it wasn't finck.  also, lets face it this shouldn't be called Guns and Roses but it is because if it was the "axl rose solo project" he wouldn't have received 13 million or all these years to complete it.

Not to be an a$$hole, but I think Slash is still the greatest lead guitarist in GNR history!!!

I listen to the old material.  The new GNR doesn't exist to me anymore, and it is sad to see loyal fans get played like this.

LISTEN TO OLD SCHOOL GNR and forget the new band.  Chinese Democracy is NEVER coming out (until proven otherwise).  There are plenty of bootlegs of the old band to keep us happy.

I think that she never told that...she just told that Dizzy hadn't said that thing.

Three things;

I think I read somewhere that Dizzy's wife does not want any reference made to her w.r.t. situations relating to Guns n'roses, so I think we should respect that

Secondly, if you feel the need to point fingers at people, then point them at Buckethead. There's nothing wrong with wanting to leave Guns n'roses, but I do think he has handled the situation in a childish, amatuerish way not befitting of a Guns n'roses guitarist

Lastly, although the situation does look mighty bleak, it is worth pointing out that there has been no official confirmation yet of Buckethead's departure. Also, looking again at the MTV article, they stated that Buckethead had left Guns n'roses before only to return again later. So, really, it is only their opinion we are going on at present that this current "departure" is permanent. Maybe he just gets a massive rush of hormones every winter or something  hihi

Well if its confirmed Buckethead has left i too have to say that its well and truly over.

Axl could still release the album with the remaining guitarists or hire someone else like Zakk, but it just wouldnt be the same. If Axl ever wanted GnR to be huge again he had to have an ace up his sleeve, that ace was Buckethead, a guy with immense talent who would have got
people to stand up and notice. The other guitarists Finck and Fortus are good in their own right, but i doubt they could awake a huge following.

I had always thought this year and the last couple of years were the perfect time to release CD. Maybe its time for Axl to call it a day and make a press release to that effect, maybe he should release the album as a solo effort and not use the name GnR.

Is it the end???     I think it probably is.

You're kidding, right?  Guns N' Roses (and more importantly it's current head Axl) is synonymous with childish and amatuerish behavior.

It's not the end of the world. He's only a guitar player, and as with most things in life, they are replaceable  hihi

This time though, his manager told the press he was leaving. That didn't happen the last (few) time(s). We don't know what's going on but even if he has not canceled his contract or anything, I don't think it's good for the sake of the band that someone who wants to leave is "forced" to stay in the band because of his contract. Maybe that's why he decided to leave by himself. I'm surprised the management does not know anything because according to his manager, he told Axl he was leaving a while ago...

Yes, I do, but I couldn't let that one get pass unchallenged; I mean, honestly how could I allow that word choice to stand?   Wink

Do you not remember though last year when Buckethead's record label were spreading the same rumors. I think, to be fair, that MTV could have probably found a source and did this same story a year or so ago

I wonder if Buckethead's mind just changes from day to day

this is what i meant to write

great post, I agree with you one hunderd percent...i am still pissed that i paid for tickets and hotel and bus fare for philly and DC to have both shows canceled.   axl has been a baby his entire career and if every member decides to quit more power to them..  finally, i don't care how much money he has mad in his career if he decides to fight geffen over the masters he will lose and lose all of his money in legal fees.  i know this is selfish and CHILDISH but the thought of a pennyless axl performing in branson, MO is pretty funny

i agree 100% with your thrid point. all hope certainly is not lost at this point.

but your second point is just hilarious. talk about a BIASED opinion of axl.

if anything, b-head is following the standard PERFECTLY that axl practices for gnr.

I totally agree. Axl is massively eccentric, massively unpredictable and sometimes very childish  hihi

However, just because the sky is blue doesn't mean the grass has to be too, hence the topic here is not Axl, it's Buckethead, and as such, expectations are different
