Guns N' Roses' label would not comment on Buckethead's departure.

I think the saying NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS really isnt the case here.

pat-- i agree with what you are saying, but its not going to happen.
The right time to release it would have been either shortly after the VMAs or shortly after or before the 2002 tour... that was when there was momentum behind GnR. Now? does anyone really think that Axl or whoever else is responsible for CD is going to release it when they are on the downswing? it doesn't work that way. Axl has waited 7 years, trying to get CD as perfect as he possibly can and he's going to suddenly release it in a panic when the shit has hit the fan?
fact: the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.
Axl, though he certainly should, is not going to release CD anytime soon. The recent developments are only going to shelve it that much longer.
Buckethead's contibutions to the band (and all of us are never going to agree on this) are really secondary to the undeniable fact that his departure is just another, like is said before, bump in the road for a band on crutches.

I spoke with my friend today (the one who used to do music PR who has actually met Axl (i think i have mentioned this in another thread). She is the one who told me a few weeks ago that CD was done. I asked her tonight if she heard anything and she said "i don't think anyone ever thought CD was going to be released" and echoed a lot of your sentiments about it possibly being released posthumously.

Face the music kids. It's over.

"Ain't It Fun"

« Reply #186 on: March 17, 2004, 11:55:21 PM »

I'll throw my penny in the wishing well here:

-GNR is not over until they cancel on Rock In Rio 4 (which is looking liklier by the day).
-AXL ROSE likely has done all the vocals for the new album (i hate the title "chinese democracy") but won;t put it out until he's got vocals down on all the songs he's been making with the band.
-Perhaps another reason that GNR hasn't come out with the new record is because it doesn't live up to the spirit of the old GNR. You can't recreate it in the studio - you need to create it through adventures outdoors (see the 1985 Seattle shows).

THis is retarded now. Im especially ashamed of some of the fans who have previously posted in blind defense of Axl. Sure, I love Axl as much as any of his ball lickers - but there comes a point where you gotta be honest and fess up how he's been a fuck up the last 4 years. All I can say is that these last 4 years of madness sure put me straight.

My life is together now. I give all the credit to the past legacies of GNR. I will continue to be inspired it, and I would prefer to never hear another new GNR album if it doesn't live up to past spirit.

sad day. But i think this is official.

I recall Laswell said Bucket was sick. We now know that Laswell was telling the truth about everything. I wonder if Bucket's sickness is indeed serious.

W. Axl Rose has singlehandedly ruined the greatest rock band ever.  And if Buckethead walking out after a failed North American Tour and no shows in Philly and Toronto isn't enough to convince you then...

umm Toronto wasn't a no show, it was actually a huge selling success and one of the best performances on th Tour. Vancouver was the other no show..

:hihi:Axl is not the only one to blame in this whole thing if it is true.Maybe Bucket decided that GN'R was not right for him.I had never heard of Bucket until he joined GN'R and so I don't know what his playing sounds like. peace

God, this is really depressing.

I'm sad.

There are very few people who can fill Brian Carrol's bucket.

Axl better fucking call Zakk Wylde.

Yea, right, like Zakk would want to be associated with Axl.

To me, it's not official quite yet. I need an official announcement for sure. MTV reported Axl playing music in a strip club and it really wasn't confirmed. MTV wouldn't report something they knew was a rumor, but may have run with something that wasn't concrete.

What can I say, I'm holding out hope here.

I think if BH is out that sucks and there is nobody to blame but Axl. This was supposed to be the new GnR...not the revolving door GnR. After a while you have to admit what the problem is. Or rather...who it is.

Axl should drop that album now. Just get it out man, while GnR is in the news more than ever.

Off course it would be great, but he would never get out of BLS and Ozzy to go to GN'R... maybe in 1995, but not today.

So it's come down to this.....
No word...   No lead guitar...  No album...  No sign of tour....  No news....   No nothing.  RIR doesn't even look good now folks.

To all of you who said "the album will never come out," I never believed you.  I thought you were just fed up and didn't care.

It turns out... you're right.

Does anyone see hope for this band?  Does anyone see any logical reason that this will continue?  I've read some comments, and most are just plain pitiful.  C'mon people.... is this truely it??  crying

If you are in a GN'R board, I just think you got some hopes too...

Off course there's a CD, but right now I fell a little like you...

We had worst times as GN'R fans, didn't we?

Just wait a little more and see what is really going to happen.

But then again RIR III didn't produce much, neither did the VMA performance, or the last tour.

So this doesn't look very hopeful.

I have to wait for concrete confirmation on the BH issue.

It looks very bleak right now. I'd need a couple more things confirmed before I'd throw the towel in 100%.

What would suck more than anything is if he released the LP and it sucked on top of it. LOL. That would be a slow painful death indeed.

My opinion on this matter:

First of all, I always liked Finck better than Buckethead. The guy just doesn't have a stage presence...

Second, since he signed a contract, Axl can use all the parts he recorded for Chinese Democracy.

Third, I still believe that GN'R will play RIR4, they'll just do it with 2 guitar players. How unusual for GN'R, huh?

Fourth, why in God's name was Buckethead the future of GN'R? He totally changed their sound to more electronic.

And just because Buckethead left it doesn't mean that Brain will leave. Brain was in the band before Buckethead.

Let's just stay calm and wait for some update from management or Axl. If this is true, something's gotta happen in the next few days...
