If you listen to the drum parts to Chinese Democracy, the constant snare hits at the end of the measures....Slither kinda has the same snare hits, of course its different, but its very possible that Slither's drums were influenced by Chinese Democracy's drums.

Why?  

I wish people would give up the idea that VR somehow trying to out-do Axl and Nu GNR.  I seriously doubt Slash and Duff have even heard Chinese Democracy (the song not the album).  As Duff has said he cares/knows about as much about what is happenning with Nu Gnr as he does with Iron Maiden, i.e. not much at all.
