lets see how varied people's tastes are. Seems to be a bit  of disagreement amoung the shittier/better songs off CB. Heres my opinion.

Top 3 - Do it for Kids, Spectacle,Superhuman

worst 3 - Fall to Pieces and Loving the Alien, no 3rd...rest of album kicks alot of ass.  smoking

Top 3:  Sucker Train Blues, Loving the Aliens, Dirty Little Thing

Worst 3:  Do It For The Kids, Illegal I, Slither

My opinions on these songs seems to change daily.  But for today, this is how I'd rate them.  I will say that the only song I skip over on occasion is Do It For the Kids.

Theres not one song I dislike...But if I had to pick a least favorite, itd be "Superhuman," followed by "Headspace" and "Illegal i Song".  Theyre all good songs, but theres gotta be a least favorite...

Its extremely hard to pick a favorite, or even three favorites, but I guess itd something like:

"Loving The Alien"
"You Got No Right"
"Sucker Train Blues"

But then "Slither," "Set Me Free," "Dirty Little Thing," "Do It For The Kids," "Fall To Pieces" and "Spectacle" are about as good, and the choices will probably change...

Damn this is a good record.   Grin

Head Space (even more crappy lyrics then LTA)

good topic.

top 3
for me this is tricky because i am a sucker for ballady type songs so Loving The Alien and You Got No Right will automatically be on there. So besides those two songs,
Spectacle
Do It For The Kids

worst 3
illegal i (i seem to always skip this song)
fall to pieces
superhuman (not really feeling this)

but the worst 3, for me, are still better than almost everything new on the radio today.  ok

It's hard to say the top 3, because i've got like a top 5 list, but maybe:

Fall to Pieces
You Got No Right
Headspace

I'd also include Loving the Alien and Illegal i Song if it was the top 5.

Worst 3:
Set Me Free
Spectacle
Dirty Little Thing

I think I'm in the minority for my least favorites, but I just find those songs boring as hell.

Worst 3

Big Machine is just awful. Decent drums and bass at the beginning but boy Scotts vocals and lyrics are bad. Chorus sounds like anything from Snakepit.

Spectacle is just as bad. I hate the the megaphone thing  (the Motherfucker yeah...) Nothing to like about this song. It doesn't take you anywhere. Not Even Slash's solo saves this ( well, it is a good solo indeed)

Superhuman. The first riff is quite good actully, but then again comes Scott sounding like a nice Fred Durst-Marylin Manson hybrid. Then the lyrics " cocaine, alcohol, lady lay..." very obvious.

Top 3

Slither: great song. It gets better with every listen. I just notice something, the very fist 5 seconds of the song sounds like Oh My God.

Loving the Alien: Great finishing track. This is the VR " Atlanta" track. Great tune, but not as memoralbe Duff believes it will once be.

you Got not Right. Best song by far. The lyrics are beautiful, the melodiy is just brlliant and the solo is the  best one of the album. Touching song.

illegal i song

Lovin' the alien

now my 3 least fav are

big machine
superhuman

it's so hard to choose which ones are least fav ones..but damn this is a good album. It's funny when I heard the cd first time I considered the songs that I didn't like as a fillers (like: DIFTK, Headspace, DLT, Illegal i song etc..etc..) and now the "fillers" have turnep up to be the best ones IMO. lol.

Man, it's really hard to pick three favorites.  I truly am falling in love with every song here.  Seriously, this is the sort of rock n' roll record I've been waiting over a decade to hear, and I pity those on this board who are not blown away by Contraband.  I'm also baffled as to how ANYONE who is a GNR fan cannot help but love this record.  This isn't Snakepit, folks - not that I disliked Snakepit, but Slash was capable of so much more, and we have proof of that now - and you're not going to hear any "techno" stuff here either.  Anyway, I'd select "Spectacle," "Dirty Little Thing," and "Slither" if I have to choose.  The only song that didn't grab me right away is "Loving the Alien," but now it has grown on me.  What a beautiful little song.  I was only a casual listener of STP through the years, so I never gained an appreciation of Weiland's talents ... until now.  He truly is the perfect singer for this band.  To think that even just a couple of months ago I was arguing that VR could have found someone better; now I am a believer.  I missed their show at Avalon on May 29 - afterall, the show sold out in 10 minutes - but I'm not missing them again when they come back to Boston.  Fuck no, I MUST see this band live.  Velvet Revolver is a Godsend.

Have you heard/bought any STP albums?
