FTP - it will be huge for the band much like the way "Like a stone" was for audioslave as their @nd single.

Then they should release Headspace/Suckertrain Blues & then Loving the alien/YGNR

I really don't see what the big deal is with FTP?  I know everyone's has a different opinion...but this is one song that holds the album down...it's one of the few songs I skip on the album.

I agree with FTP. It's good but it doesn't shine and it doesn't represent the album very well. I think they should kick the world's ass with a Heavy kick ass tune such as Superhuman, Headspace or Ilegal I song. Then they can back that up with a ballad such as YGNR or LTAS.

Fall To Pieces next......then Illegal i.....then YGNR or Living The Aliens.

4 hits will sell them no less than 5 million.

FTP, it will be the cross over smash that will get them played on multiple formats.  They can come back after that with another rocker and end with YGNR. I can totally see 4 singles out of this album, even though some of the rest of the album is a little weak. FTP is the key song though as it has the potential to be a huge comerical hit.

Well I think they should release FTP now. Then YGNR. I dont consider a ballad, well, its a slow tempo tune, but not a classic ballad. Listen to Sister Morphine by the Rolling Stones for example, its a slow tempo tune but not a ballad. Then they should release Loving the Aliens (sometimes). That could make them huge

I think LTA would be bigger than YGNR. YGNR should be more popular with the diehard fans not the general public. Kinda like the way Dont Cry is to us.

Well they have released two rockers in a row so it's probably time for a ballad.  The obvious choice here is FTP.

However, I'd like to throw Dirty Little Liar in as a four release.  This is one of my 3 favorite songs on the album and it moving up my personal charts fast.  Slash's solo at the end, while somewhat brief, is his best work on the album IMO.  Of course my song preferences have changed by the day.  Smiley

Its basically official that "FTP" is the second single.

I agree that "Dirty Little Thing" has some of the best guitar-work of the record...Its the most GNR-sounding of them all.  Great solo - I wouldnt call it brief, though.  All of the solos on the rockers should have been as long.  But I dont think Id choose it for a single.  Id go with "Sucker Train Blues" for a rocker and "Loving The Aliens" for a ballad.

Listening to "YGNR" today, I think this song could make it as a single.  Not sure I would choose it, but if it were chosen, it could work.  Scotts vocals are damn impressive, and Slashs solo is a classic.

If you look at todays "Rock Stars" Kid Rock, Puddle of Mudd, Limp Bizkit, Audioslave They almost all release their powerful hard rock song/single first and follow it up with a slower tempo song for their second single. VR has already had Slither and Set Me Free as singles. Sucker Train is a pretty good song but they need to make the CROSSOVER and put out one of their ballads. Personally LTA's is my fav to each their own. YGNR is also a very good song. FTP is good but the lyrics seem to have something missing. I dont know how to exactly say it but it sounds like he is just repeating himself. Although Slash's riffs really to make FTP the song it is.

FTP will bring in the crossover appeal, and if they make a video, it will likely get heavy airplay on MTV.

Still, I'd prefer if the next single was YGNR - it's a better ballad.

Yeah, FTP is a lot more mainstream than LTA or YGNR, but I would have to say that YGNR should be the next single.  I think it could be a huge hit.
