Use Your Illusion I (1991)

« on: May 03, 2004, 07:23:37 PM »

I like the acoustic version a lot as well. I like both versions a lot.

I think I like the acoustic one better. It is very raw and relaxed. I like it. I also think Interstate Love Song was great acoustic too.

Scott reminded me of Axl on "Used to Love Her".... weird... the way he sang it I guess.

What you guys think?

I loved all the acoustic stuff. It was awesome. You could tell Scott was kind of joking around during Used To Love Her. He sounded great during the verses but you could tell he was kind of having fun with Axl's sounds... I hope they play Used To Love Her live.

For the regular Slither, it took me some time to like it.   But I loved the acoustic version immediately.

I cant wait to see what other songs they play live.  Smiley

Someone over at the VR boards said that Scott sounds a bit like David Bowie on Used To Love Her and listening back to it I think he does too.

He sounds eerily like Layne Staley on Slither, especially at the start.

I like the acoustic Slither better, because it has more GN'R feeling in it, a bit similiar to Led Zeppelin's acoustic songs, and I even like better Scott's voice in this than the studio version.

I like the electric version the best - it fucking rocks. But the acoustic version is great too and yeah it reminds me a bit of Led Zep`s acoustic stuff.

I think I prefer the studio version a bit more because it has a bit more attitude, but the acoustic version is excellent in it's own right. Scott really sounds amazing on the acoustic version.

Dave_Rose,

You can download the 3 acoustic songs they played (Slither, ISLS, and Used to Love Her) from this site:

http://www.belowempty.com/vr/downloads.php

I think it's still there.
