I Am Inconquerable

« on: April 29, 2004, 01:18:00 PM »

For the love of God, could somebody please tell me what in hell is the point of Chris Pittman in Guns N' Roses? Seems to me there was always too many "players" in the group ever since bloated the Use Your Illusion world tour.

Don't get me wrong, the Illusions tour was the bomb, once in a life time!! I don't think anyone could put a bigger badder tour than the Illusions World Tour.

Yeah, I know.  Programming I guess is his specialty.  However, it seems as though that is only done on Madagascar.  But I guess we won't really know until the album comes out how much he really does.  I would think you could almost just get like a roadie or someone to do what he does.  At least what he did on  the 2002 tour.  Dizzy could just give him another set of congos and they could bang on them together until their songs come up.

I think he meant "badder" as a compliment...as in "bad ass."

Chris Pittman is one of Axl's main writing partners. He's even mentioned in the Live Era booklet. I don't think he's an "official" member as such though.

Pittman plays keyboards that aren't plugged in, how can u say he is not needed??? hihi

If Axl thinks he serves a purpose then who are we to disagree.

Meh, if some of you all would actually *listen* to the music, you can hear him prominently on several tracks, especially the new songs, all of them. Listen to all of the synths on 'The Blues': Dizzy is out on the piano, so he ain't doing them, Chris is.

Yeah, I think two keyboardists in a hard rock band is just laughable.  Keyoboards shouldnt be anywhere near a song like "You Could Be Mine".

Pittman is replacing Buckethead.  Axl has apparently decided that he doesn't need any more guitarists, and he only needs one keyboard player.  That will be Dizzy.  The catch?  Pittman doesn't play guitar, but Axl, at that club sighting, told a fan that "Chris plays a mean xylophone.  The feel it gives to the material is really something, it allows us to sort of push our recording to the next level.  It's kind of a blend of anger and heartbreak with a dash of betrayal, and Chris's beautiful xylophone harmonics bring a sense of childlike innocence to the mix.  Wat until you hear him take the lead on 'Out ta Get Me'...it's like a brand new song."
So really, who needs Bucket?
Christery solved!!! Cheesy
Yeah, I know it was weak.  I'm just happy it's Friday! beer
