For me a good sentence in a song is:

I guess I'm going Back to the things I learn so well in my youth, from the song Mother Love by Queen, it's very melancholic that phrase
Also If love is blind I'll guess I'll buy myself a Cane is an awsome sentence, from Locomotive song By Guns N' Roses, that I always remeber when people lose their heads over love.

I spent a while thinking about this...and this comes from a song where every line is so painfully true, it's depressing, but I feel this lyric describes about 90% of what is wrong with the world today:

Yeah I love this phrase, cause it really means that people loose their minds on love and like we are going blind when we got involve in a relationship, we don't see beyond our noses.

I too am always emotional when I hear this song - it's one of my favorites.

For me:

I feel these lyrics very strongly.  Human civilization is just a blip in time so far, a blink of an eye, and we're gone.  And yet...as each day passes, my time is running out, and so is yours.


"He was the Naz, with god-given ass"  -- Bowie, Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from Mars.

This always makes me laugh - so witty and tongue-in-cheek.


This is from Gimme Shelter (Let it bleed album):

"See the fire is sweeping our very street today,
burns like a red coal carpet, mad bull lost it?s way"

The Stones have many great sentences!  'Red coal carpet' sends shivers down my spine.

Hateto be a pedant (oh who am I kidding, I love it), but that line is originally from Carole King and Gerry Goffin's 'Goin' back', which was made famous by Dusty Srpingfield and covered by Freddie in his pre-queen days (under the name 'Larry Lurex'), which is of course sampled on 'mother love'. But you probably already knew all of that.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way - Time, Pink Floyd. I'm an Englishman and don't I know it.

You say I'm empty, we all know I'm full of shit! - Dross, Smashing Pumpkins That you sometimes are, Mr Corgan.

Reward of all my efforts, my own limited company - Good company, Queen It makes more sense in the context of the song.
