two days ago i was listening to the radio and the dj started playing kohd. while the intro was playing he said something about the new gnr greatest hits album, then he said this song would also be on the album (kohd).  nothing new right? well, during the second verse i heard, what sounded like axl, talking over the singing. you know, like saying quotes and shit over the lyrics (like the quotes at the end of breakdown over the solo). to me this was BRAND NEW. besides that, it is the same exact version of kohd as on uyi 1.
does anyone know anything about this or heard it? open for discussion...

It might be the version from "Days Of Thunder" soundtrack which is different from the UYI version with quotes on it. I can't remember if they're in the second verse though.. And I might be mistaken but if I remember correctly Steven plays Drums on it (or at least the drums sound really different than on UYI).

It's from the second verse, and it's from the DOT soundtrack.

Mama, put my guns in the ground
(It wasn't their fault)
I can't shoot them anymore
(How were they even supposed to know?)
That coal black cloud is comin' down
(All things can be healed in time)
Feels like I'm knockin' on Heaven's door
(I'm drawing a blank on this one and it's driving me NUTS...maybe something like "Why?  Why would they even do it?")

I always thought it was:

"Why, why did he have to do it?"

I'd be very excited if it was the better DOT version. Adler's drumming is really a superb, and those extra lines just add new meaning to the song. But then again I already have the soundtrack.
