What type of guitar is that. A hollow body LP?

It's a hollow-body Gibson, I think it's an ES-175.

are you sure? It looks more like a LP then a old school archtop. The 175 is a pretty decent size.

It's Gibson hollowbody, not an ES-175 cause that one is thick, I'm not 100% sure but I thought that it was a ES-275

Now I'm pretty certain it's an ES-175.  Pause the video around 44 seconds, and compare the guitar to this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38085&item=3774932256&rd=1

From HTGTH Equipment page:

Izzy Stradlin
Rhythm & Lead Guitars [1985 - 1991]    Guitars:

Gibson ES-175
Gibson Les Paul
Gibson Byrdland
Fender Telecaster
Gibson 355

Amps:

Fender Bassman heads with a Mesa Boogie 4x12 cabinet with EV speakers in the bottom and Celestions on top

Here's a link to the equipement page(where I got the above):

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/misc/equipment.html

He's not playing the Gibson 335, because that's a double cut-away.  I guess it could also be the Gibson Byrdland, but I don't think the shape of it looks quite right (Specifically the shape of the cutaway, on the Byrdland it's rounded, on the ES-175 it comes to a point).  It's too big to be a Les Paul semi-hollow.

Another reason I think it's the ES-175 that it's specifically mentioned in this article:

Quote
As Guns N' Roses entered Canoga Park's Rumbo Studios to record basic tracks for Appetite, Slash was a little under equipped, to say the least. He had a Jackson guitar with a "tweaked neck" and a borrowed Marshall cabinet. Izzy Stradlin' wasn't much better off, having only recently acquired an open-back Carvin 4x12 for his MESA/Boogie head and self-painted Gibson ES-175 hollowbody.

So anyway, there's some evidence to back up my guess.  Take it or leave it.

hmmm.  Well I found out what guitar I had seen previously. Its a ES-137. Size of a LP with sharper cutaway horn and f holes.
