From a different angle- GNR don't need Rock In Rio anymore, so is any of this worth the hassle?

Rock In Rio without GNR is not Rock In Rio, there is something different when GNR played in this festival, the public loves the band, and the band loves Rock In Rio

Who's responsibility is it, then?  Why wouldn't it be GnR's responsibility to determine if GnR wants to play a festival?

If I tell you that I'm going to make an offer on your house and that the ball is in your court, it seems like it's totally up to you whether or not you want to sell your house to me. In reality, I didn't even make an offer.... You're basically put into a position where you need to publicly accept, or not, without knowing what kind of offer I might make! After all, the ball is apparently in your court!

Now do you see the issue?

Edited to add: When do the tickets go on sale for next year's festival? Seems like a great way to get GN'R fans to buy tickets with hopes of GN'R playing there...

But what position is the band really put in?  Has Axl said anything?  Do we expect him to feel pressured to?  I don't think he gives a shit what this guy said.  Do fans really feel like the band will let them down if they don't play RIR?  It's a douche move by this promoter, but has zero impact on the band, IMO.

Axl might not care, but the band is still in a position where (some) fans expect them to appear for sure because of these comments. How can they refuse the invitation?

All I'm saying is that, even though, the person might really want GN'R to appear, it would've been smarter to keep quiet and only make announcements if the band agreed to play the festival....

I don't care at all about Rock in Rio. Only thing that would matter to me is that we would get a proshot, but hopefully by that time they will already planning on release a far better Blu-ray.

Let's just hope they choose the best show, unlike the Illusions DVD.

A compilation of different shows would be great too...like Aerosmith did with Rock for The Rising Sun blu ray. Technically the NA shows were better but SA crowds bring the concert to another level...they could release a kick ass 25 song blu ray with songs from several shows!

I wouldn't mind that, same thing Iron Maiden did. Hell, I wouldn't mind if they patched together the best parts of different performances into one (like AC/DC's Live at Donington).
