GNR crew thread
«

We rarely acknowledge the people behind the band, the ones who set up and break down, get the band from A to B, and all the people who are making sure things go without a hitch every night.
I thought there should be a thread thanking them for keeping the band safe, in one piece, and keeping the show going night after night, and could get into a discussion about what they do, how someone would get into the type of work they do, and the pros and cons of it. There's a lot of pieces and parts to live shows, and we rarely hear about who the people are, where they're from, what they do, and their own experiences on the road.

Have to agree 100%, the crew work harder than any of us can imagine. From setting up the stage, to tuning guitars, changing strings etc... they don't get the praise they deserve, and are one of the defining factors of the show taking place. And when you attend a lot of shows like myself, you start to recognise faces, and you start to know "what they do", in regards to what role they have in the setting up process.

We attended the gig last summer at Piestany. After the show we went to the first row and watch how they are disassemling the stage. (The show was too good just to walk away.
)
They were working without any word, everybody just know what he had to do. They did a perfect job.
Suddenly one of them came to my wife and asked: "Do you want this?" and gave her one of DJ's Jack. He found it on the stage, he could just by-pass it but he choose to make a fan happy. It was very nice. Thanks man!

No show would happen without the crew.
When things run smoothly, you might not even realize how many things need to be done before there can even be a show.
These are the guys who have to be pretty flexible and work long days so that we have a show to enjoy.
They have to deal with things like horrible weather or delayed trucks.
Or totally different kinds of venues on the same tour, where you have to use your imagination to make it work.

It sucks when things like this happen and there are any injuries, but thankfully not during the show. I have to wonder if it's made some bands reconsider playing outdoors sometimes.

Sometimes outdoors is the only possible way to play in a certain place.
But safety of the band, crew and fans are always a priority.
That's why gigs get canceled, postponed and delayed.
Shows get stopped due to safety issues. People throwing shit, people pushing forward and so on.
Nobody should get hurt, or worse, at a rock concert.
