Slash gets smashed at guitar shop opening in Epsom

Guitar legend Slash of Guns N' Roses fame lived up to his bad boy image after having mashed potato thrown in his face this afternoon.

Tubes, from Sky One's Soccer AM show, smashed Slash during an interview ahead of the official opening of GuitarGuitar in Epsom, the largest guitar shop in the UK.

The superstar did not see the joke and stormed off after having Tubes unceremoniously booted out of the building.

But with hordes of fans eagerly awaiting their chance to meet their idol face to face, Slash returned for the exclusive signing with 200 lucky competition winners and to ?slash the sash? at the shop's official opening.

But the dozen assembled journalists there to cover the opening were held in a side room during the ceremony, well away from where he was cutting the ribbon.

A seething Slash refused to be interviewed by the BBC or talk to any other media organisations.

However, he did return to sign items brought in by his fans and was as polite as could be expected.

GUITAR legend Slash stormed out of the grand opening of a Epsom music store after falling victim to a TV prank on Thursday (September 15).

The 46-year-old former Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver axeman had been at the grand opening of guitarguitar on Church Street when, during an interview for Sky Sports, he was covered with mashed potato.

'Tubes', a regular presenter on the Soccer AM show, emerged shortly after the incident covered in mashed potato and was heard to say "that's not gone well!".

Slash stormed out of the signing, leaving hundreds of fans waiting outside although he later returned to sign autographs for lucky fans who had been selected randomly after entering a Facebook competition.

Nigel Spennewyn, general manager, said: "We had a little incident earlier with some of the guys from Sky and Soccer AM where a question was asked and I don't think Slash got the English humour perhaps, I'm not too sure.

"But everything's very cool now, everyone is happy and everyone is smiling, it's fine."

This article goes along with what Slash and Perla posted.  Why would this guy put potatoes on his own face.

SOCCER AM star Tubes upset Slash when he was filming with him yesterday.

The former Guns N Roses star didn't get his sense of humour when they met at a guitar shop in Epsom yesterday.

Stoke City fan Slash had agreed to be interviewed by 'Tuuuuuubes' but had obviously never seen his segment on the show before.

When the cameras started rolling he didn't ask any questions and instead screamed 'I like Smash' and covered his own face in the mashed mix.

Slash stared at Tubes and said 'Is that a wrap?' before storming off.
