VR are MY band.. to have one of my fave frontmen of all time combine with my fave rhythm section of all time? U gotta be kidding.

It was just the greatest dream band of mine of all time outside an Appetite GNR reunion.

Scott made similar comments before STP got back together, so....you never know.

I had forgotten about that, you're right, he did make similar comments.

A while ago I would have thought this would never happen, but with the fact that they can't seem to agree on a new singer, maybe it's possible.  But everyone would have to finish their solo projects first.  It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this.

As long as they continue in an Contraband kind of style instead of the experimental album of Libertad..which was more influenced by Scott.

I liked the kick in the face contraband finaly a rockalbum that pushed Rock back to life..
and they have mentioned before they want to go heavier... well let's hear it!

Simply can't get much better than this!!!

I saw VR in 05 and will admit that I enjoyed the show, but it was also at time when It was the next best thing, the only connection to GNR. Obviously at that time we were all living on a hope and a prayer that the release of CD would surface.  I can't say that I really cared for VR fully, and I must admit I think Scott was the deal breaker for me.  It was not Axl!!  I remember at the show Scott asked the crowd if we remembered a little group called GNR and then proceeded to do a cover.  No matter how much I tried to accept that this was it, I just couldn't grasp it, I hated the Megaphone he was using, it completely killed it for me.  Sorry, but I think Scott belongs with STP, I think the shoe fits, and that is where Scott can get my full respect as an artist.  I think he had a lot of pressure on him in VR to try and fill the shoes not only of one of the most popular bands of their day, but as one of the best frontman of all time!!  I don't think bringing Scott back is the answer to VR, over time those old skeletons will resurface.  I believe the reason they may all be on speaking terms is due to the fact Scott is no longer a member and a friendship is working, due to the fact the pressures of being bandmates is non-existing!! Just my thoughts!!

AXL SLASH DUFF = GOAT

« Reply #25 on: August 04, 2011, 04:48:54 PM »

Largely depends on whether Scott is clean or not.  Dealing with Scott on drugs is awful.  Probably what Axl felt like when he was dealing with Slash on dope.

yeah but at least Slash still played well and showed up to gigs, unlike Scott.  Scott completely embarrassed himself in the summer of 08 here at PNC in jersey....but redeemed himself the following year.
