Fucked over in Philly - 12/06/02

« on: April 23, 2011, 02:44:13 AM »

trying to find the Illusions on wax but I'm having a hard time.  I can find pressings from Brazil and Korea on ebay, but can't really find any decently priced American pressings.

Are there any differences in the quality?  Were they just pressed there and shipped over or am I looking at a Korean version?  Trying to find them but still want the quality I've come to expect form vinyl.  Can anyone help me?

There are various pressings, where the EU releases are the most easy to get. Most are made in Germany.

There is a Back To Black re-issue from 2008. Those are also very good, i would say equal to the older releases (i have them) and are on 180 grms vinyls.
They can be found NEW and Sealed in record stores, online and local.

To my knowledge, the Korea and Russian (rare) releases are boots, but i am still not sure on the Korean pressing, but i do think they are boots.

The USA releases are little harder to get, but they were sold in large numbers. If you get lucky, you can even find the ones that were released as promo.
They are totally equal to the normal ones, but have gold stamps on the front (sometimes back) telling it is a promo.
By lucky i mean, it is sometimes hard to read those gold letters, and they get listed as the normal ones.

However, for the same price you would be getting an almost 20 year old album, perhaps worn down and played a lot, you can get those new 2008 pressings for about 20 euro's each. (depending on the stores) In your case, that might not be a bad idea.
