SLASH Performs National Anthem At Dodger Stadium; Video Available - Apr. 17, 2010

Legendary VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash performed the U.S. national anthem before last night's (Friday, April 16) opener of a three-game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the first-place San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Watch video footage of his appearance below.

OMG!!!  That was horrible!!!

If I didn't see the guitar in the video, I would swear he was playing a jew's harp*  hihi

A small lyre-shaped folk instrument of uncertain age and origin that was commonly used in Europe in the Middle Ages. The rounded part of the Jew's Harp is held between the thumb and forefinger of the left hand. The narrow part of the frame should be positioned on the teeth of the performer. A small, bent, metal tongue inside the frame is then plucked by the finger of the performer to vibrate the tongue producing tones. The origin of the name is unknown as it has no apparent connection to the Jewish people.

What was the equipment failure at the VMA's?

The inner ear monitor which made Axl be a bit off key during Jungle.

Ah, I thought he was just winded by running around like a madman.  Obviously that wasn't the best performance, but the intensity of the moment is tough to match.

Jimmy Fallon introducing them as GN F'N R really gave it a great start too  beer

Stick to talking about this performance instead of trying to shift focus to something else.

anytime u play live music, or do anything live.. there are always chances of something going wrong.

considering his cable messed up, he did a good job. just glad he didn't hit some wrong notes Roseanne Barr style.

What the hell is going on here?  We are talking about this like it was an actual real "performance."  Who gives a fuck?  It was the National Anthem at a fucking baseball game!  If I was at the game I probably woudnt have even paid attention to it or skipped it and got there late, and im obviously a huge fan of Slash.  Equipment failure?  unreal.  Who cares.

I agree with Bodhi what is the big deal? Slash can play the NA anyway you like it. He plays it this way because Tommy Lasorda likes this version. He was not having any kind of tech trouble in the NA. He had cable trouble in the 7th inning stretch when he did God Bless America. Smiley
