Now I could be wrong, but is it possible Axl has a thing about numbers? Could this be why Estranged is such an elusive live animal?

For example: "Old at heart, but I'm only 47...." would probably sound better if he was 48, no?

This could be the year, South American fans!

I would imagine that the facts that Estranged isn't a particularly well known song (so no obligation to play it), difficult vocally, difficult musically, and takes up a lot of time had more to do with its lack of plays. Probably my personal favourite GNR song, all the same.

I'm sure i remeber some one posting that Axl doesnt want to play the song, i could be wrong but i think i remeber something being said that he didnt want to play it without slash...

like i said, i could be wrong

my answer to the thread starter is no, if so then he'd only be playing it in 1990, 2000, 2010 and so on.. so it has nothin to do with numbers/age

I seem to recall Axl describing some hesitance at performing songs like Don't Cry and Estranged back in 2001/2002 as well.

at least im not the only one lol.

well dont cry has been performed, lets hope estranged will be at some point, i would be really intrested to see how the band could pull it off, and what (if any) new bits would be added to it

There are so many good songs on the illusion albums that would sound awesome in 2010.  Particulary estranged and civil war.  Dead horse, perfect crime, locomotive, breakdown and coma.

Axl no only has to change the "28" part but also the "I'm much too young" as it does no make any sense with "48" hihi

Maybe He could replace it with "I'm not that old to let love breake my heart" Grin

I don't think Axl gives a fuck about Slash or any of his work in GNR at all. 
He'll do Estranged if he wants to when he wants to.

i think on this occasion he does give a fuck, coz that was a really heavy song for him and slash came up with that riff, i dont believe all the "bad blood" thats between them would change the fact that song means alot to him and he cannot ignore slash's part in that song, otherwise i think he would have played it already, you cant say its not one of there greatest hits!
