A couple of the unique ways Axl writes lyrics is how in a chorus he will change 1 or 2 words in each verse to give it a different meaning. As in NR "Do you need some time on your own, do you need some time all alone" to "Sometimes I need some time all alone, sometimes I need some time on my own"... Very subtle, but it gives the following chorus a different meaning, yet staying true to the original chorus. time..Also on how he will end a song, with some sought of rant that doesn't fit anywhere in the song except at the end where it serves as a proper closure...Both of these examples are found through out UYI I/II N' CD but missing from AFD.

Actually I'm wrong, RQ is a perfect example, but still it's Axl's unique way of composing a song..

Axl is unique in how he writes lyrics

he's very strong lyrically, he as we know has alot to say and lets alot of emotion out in his songs, its very moving

The songs are very differenty written on AFD than a lot of UYI, especially "November Rain".

It also should be noted that Axl only wrote about half the lyrics on AFD -- Izzy and Duff wrote the other half.

I always loved GNR cause they are one of the few bands that never really relied on a chorus. Sure they have it on some like Jungle and PC etc but their songs as a whole are awesome and they were never one of those don't bore us get to the chorus bands.

hellz yeah it can be hard to not have a chorus in some songs and GN'R was able to pull it off like in "Coma" 10:16 with no chorus. Axl's writing style is fuckin amazing. "Don't Damn Me" is my anthem
