Axl once looked into that during the UYI tour I think, but for some reason it didn't work out. I think it would add a lot of pressure on the band, but it would be great to pick a few shows that were extra special and somehow get them out to the fans.
just to add that
ALL shows since rock in rio/january 1991 have been recorded as Proshot videos and soundboards, thats about 192(!) for illusion era allready!! and they decided to release the wayyyyy sub-par Tokyo'92 as being the only official release - which is generally considered absolutely NOT being any fair representation to that era! fans also dont have any official released quality live shows (LLAS = not live / same for the re-worked "Live Era" 2CD / there were some TV broadcasts and unofficial releases only)......how weird that is having a band being known for its killer live performance, is it??! so whats happening with all those rock n roll-history recordings? nothing??! huge loss then! the old band split surely doesnt help in this aswell, so are all the line-up changes. but what would be just awesome for fans and could be considered at some point are some official releases (over a couple of years) of "real"
Live Era projects like:
- "
The Early Days" - pre Appetite DVD/Blu-Ray compilation by Marc Canter
- "
AFD - the most dangerous band in the world-ERA" - 1988-1990 DVD/Blu-Ray compilation
- "
Illusion Era" - 1991-1993 DVDs/Blu-Rays compilation
- "
New Century Era (Round 1)" 2001-2002 DVDs/Blu-Rays compilation
- "
New Century Era (Round 2)" 2006-2007 DVDs/Blu-Ray compilation
- "
New Century Era (Round 3)" 2009-20xx DVDs/Blu-Ray compilation
......
a lot of die hards have a good overview of good performances -judged by unofficial recordings- and could help in creating lists with possible shows/songs to be on those projects.
and back to topic:
that would be just cool aswell! technology is there!!!
