Chinese Democracy vs. 21st Century Breakdown

Maybe this thread belongs in Bad Obsession, I don't know. But both of these albums that have come out in the last year have been called masterpieces and deemed "classic rock n' roll" by Rolling Stone. And there is no doubt that they are both great rock albums. But which is better? For me, it's Chinese Democracy, but 21st Century Breakdown is definately a strong number 2 in rock albums that have come out in the last few years. Which album do you think is stronger, Chinese Democracy or 21st Century Breakdown?

HA!! Nice thread, my top two bands!!! Both awsome albums and bands, but totally different monsters.

Depends on my mood for which one i listen to BUT I listened CD for a solid 3 months, now it been all 21st Century, don't know if it'l get as much play as CD did, but I'd say both are A++++ CD is definetly more complex and technical but Green Day came out with a killer album.

As I happen to have both here infront of me.....a quick comparison.....both albums have 7-8 GREAT top notch songs, while the rest are  B/B+....so in conclusion, these two albums are equally fucking great!!!

I agree that Chinese Democracy is better, but they are both landmark rock releases within the past year that have been called "classic rock" by Rolling Stone. Green Day's current album is better than the last one, I didn't like the chopped up songs and I generally don't like politics in music. Their current is much more coherant and I'd say these two albums, CD and 21st, are the only really good rock releases in a very long time.

Tough one as DDMe said CD was constantly on the play for me for months aswell, whether 21st CB lasts that long remains to be seen but it is just basically excellent dare i say 'pop' punk.

Musically CD wipes the floor!(but i wonder which will win the awards )
