Give me a gitane!

« on: March 10, 2009, 04:07:52 AM »

Blabbermouth has posted two videos of previously unreleased Velvet Revolver tracks named "Motha Fucka" and "Clappy" that feature lead vocals by Gord Prior of the London, Ontario, Canada-based bad Blu Bones.
Blabbermouth reports: The songs were demoed in instrumental form by Velvet Revolver members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum and were shipped off to potential singers by VR's management as part of a lengthy audition process. Gord was sent the music only and had to come up with of his own vocal melodies, words and vocal arrangements.

There's been little news out of the Velvet Revolver camp lately regarding a new singer for the band, although auditions have reportedly been ongoing

These have been on youtube for a while, just look up "VR audition" and you're bound to come across several singers having a go at these new tracks.

Both sound pretty rocking, closer to Contraband style stuff than Libertad, but I believe they were both written during the Libertad sessions.

The song Clappy is great but the other song I don't like at all. I don't think these songs will be on the album anyway.

yeah, your probably right.  Im sure the band will get their own identity when they find a new singer.

Yeah, someone posted this in another thread.

That guy starts off great, has a great voice, but that chorus is atrocious.

I tried real hard to ignore the singing/lyrics...and the fact that these are rough demo's...and they still suck.  I would like to qualify this by saying that I don't think any band would be dumb enough to fire off 'Grade A' material for an 'open' audition.

I also noticed that the few demo's I heard on YT sounded very 'scott', as opposed to a different direction.

Those tracks are crap. ALthough are demos n' maybe outtakes for such a crappy album like Libertad, they still suck.. I hope that those songs will be out from the next cd (n' i'm pretty sure of that)

Agreed!  i doubt they'd want anyone to get hold of that!  Hopefully things start looking up for VR soon!  They seem to be taking a real bashing on here.

Does anyone know where I can find instrumental versions of Clappy and Mutha Fucka? Any help would be much appreciated.
