You're In The Jungle Toronto,You're Gonna Dieee

« on: February 26, 2009, 05:46:18 PM »

In what is sure to be the biggest rock event this summer, Britain's greatest arena rock band DEF LEPPARD will join forces with POISON and special guest CHEAP TRICK for a 39-city North American Tour. Tickets go on-sale to the general public beginning Friday, March 6 at www.livenation.com. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning March 4 at 10am local time through Citi's Private Pass Program. For complete presale details visit www.privatepass.citi.com.

The tour, which kicks off on June 23 in Camden, N.J, promises an unprecedented night for those in attendance. The show will highlight three decades of music from three of rock 'n' roll's greatest bands for a four-hour interactive concert experience that will begin the moment that the doors open. It will feature Bluetooth technology and delivery, text communications prior to and during performances and a host of interactive offerings.

"I'm very pleased that we are coming back to North America," said DEF LEPPARD front man Joe Elliott. "We're gonna be touring with some new friends and some old friends and can guarantee it will be the rock tour of the summer."

"There is nothing better than an epic summer concert and this tour is a dream come true for rock 'n' roll fans. It will be a night of a thousand hits with three hard-charging rock bands on the road together," said POISON front man and star of VH1's top-rated "Rock of Love Bus" reality show, Bret Michaels.

"We'll probably start rehearsing at the end of May and do a Monday to Friday thing. We like to have those be as civilized as we possibly can," vocalist Elliott tells Billboard.com. "There's no point in leading up to the first gig and having no voice or your fingers bleeding."

"We're going out with three bands, which limits the amount of time we can play to about 90 minutes," he adds. "When you do your greatest hits and some new material or extra stuff you might throw in, you have got to push and shove and clamp down. No big long speeches from moi. You have to do the AC/DC thing and just bang through everything."

DEF LEPPARD / POISON / CHEAP TRICK tour dates (venues to be announced):

I am down!  Nice outdoor summer show in Hartford, CT.  Nothing better, unless it was somewhere cooler than Hartford.

Cheap Trick are one of the most boring bands in history

Endured an hour long set before a Def Leppard gig a few years back - have no plan to ever see Cheap Trick in any capacity again

If they come over to the UK - i'm arriving very late!

Cheap Trick at Budokan is one of the finest live albums ever.

Tour sounds alright, but Poison ruins it.

Always wanted to see Def Leppard but always turned it down for another show in Toronto...Worried about Joes voice though...hows it sounding these days? And Poison I've also almost gotten tickets for a few times in Toronto and Cheap Trick I've heard is quite good live so thats a bonus...I'm debating whether I can afford tickets and gas money and such for this though

If the bands were in their prime. This tour would be great.

But Brett n C.C barely move anymore, n dont look so great.

They were more about live show. N if they cant do it, whats the point.

I've seen Def 5 times the last 3 years and while Joe may not be in tip top shape the crowd certainly gets him through the "high" notes.  It's always been a good show in my mind.

pretty much...there is a reason Dave Mustaine and James Hetfield have always said that  GLAM stands for Gay L. A. Metal...and this is a perfect example of it...How people continue to put money in the pockets of Poison amazes me..yes I know Def Leppard is NOT from L.A  and didnt dress up as chicks but they might as well have...The thing that really bothers me about Def Leppard is how Joe Elliot actually believes that their legacy is MORE than drunk chicks in dive bars eating up every minute of "Pour Some Sugar on Me"...rather he thinks they are actually MUSICIANS!! with a catalog they could be proud of!  Def Leppard is what the Backstreet Boys would be if they grew their hair out and played guitars.. a boy band with guitars...thats it.  Watching Def Leppard and Poison fight a few years back was hilarious...I was wondering which one of them was going to break a nail first...None of them have the musical I.Q of a Megadeth, Metallica or GNR..REAL quality bands that came out of that era who were about MUSIC..thats right MUSIC, not their image..all thats missing on this tour is Cinderella and Warrant.. Roll Eyes

How Cheap Trick got duped into this tour is beyond me...

im going to Limp Bizkit to laugh my ass off...big difference, I wont even begin to defend Limp Bizkit cause thats impossible, THEY SUCK!...they are NOT a serious band and dont pretend to be one..actually come to think of it they are actually a more credible band than Poison...but hey Afraud, if Gay L.A Metal is your thing, knock yourself out..actually I am a bit surprised by this...up until now I thought you had  good taste in music for the most part...

My 3 favorite band are GNR, Metallica and Megadeth....so if  credibility is what you would like to talk about, I will stack those 3 bands against anyone you want, anytime you want, because with those 3 bands, music always comes first.  Sure I enjoy a SHITLOAD of other bands too..

So if my credibility is zero, dont take my word for it, take Hetfields and Mustaines, they have the exact same opinion on Poison as I do...and they have more credibility than anyone... ok

blah blah another closed minded thrash metal fan who thinks whatever Hetfield and Mustaine says is the law.

Metallica are one of the most over-rated bands of all time. And music wasnt always first for those guys. Following trends was importent to them too, especially in the 90s!!!!

Then when its cool to play thrash metal again because of bands like Trivium and BFMV doing it on there more recent releases metallica "go back to their roots"

Hetfields a fucking douche.

Actually, this post made me feel a lot better about you.

Carry on.

(But if you're paying for the tickets..... Undecided)

And actually, I do like Def Leppard and Cheap Trick.  Poison not so much, but DL is legitimate.  If you listen to their stuff beore Pyromania, they were pretty much a borderline heavy metal band.

But why though man.

Why cant you just enjoy the music. i mean ok, poison i can understand. If you like complex more thought out music, they are not the guys to go to. They are what they are, a fun party rock glam act. You take it or leave it.

No worries, but to go against the whole genre is stupid. There are some awesome acts from that scene equally as talented sometimes more talented then the guys from Metallica or Megadeth.

James and Daves opinions really piss me off. But i dont judge there music on it, i still dig on some of there albums because it rocks.

Ive got all Metallicas CDs bought (from their 80s releases) and ive got Rust In Peace by Megadeth.

Every genre has its flaws. You may not dig the image of the glam bands, some of them i find ridiculous too. But others i think its really cool. Musically, the glam movement never tires me. I listen to alot of bands and genres. Glam has always been the most consistent to me, i dont get bored of it. I can always find something to listen to from a band of that time.

Thrash is something i need to be in the mood for. Theres only so many times you can listen to fast "dun dun dun" riff lines and really fast shouty vocals before it starts sounding the same.

Ok i will say Janes Addiction are a band not from the glam genre that i never tire of. But Janes are just a style of their own.

Not ALL glam is "pop metal". There are some lesser known acts who are just as raw and real as any of the thrash bands.
