Last I checked I was allowed to post comments that did not praise GNR, and they did not get deleted.

Well, you are kinda wrong. I saw a few posts being deleted because they weren?t exactly a new GNR praise. So i guess, freedom of opinion is not all that free.

There is no new GN'R.

This is a GN'R site. Pretty simple.

Looking at your avatar, personal text and signature, it's quite apparent this site is not suitable for you.

You got the freedom to fuck off if it bothers you that we live in the present.

Jarmo, that sounds an awful lot the makings of a pretty mean lyric...in the style of Get In The Ring perhaps?  I'm thinking "Gary Busey came to rehab, but he claims he aint a resident" for the next verse...for some reason it comes off Rage Aginst The Machine in my head though... hihi

Anyway, I got tired of seeing this topic pop up in 'unread posts' without having any idea what a NOB is...can someone help me out?  I am always willing to agree/disagree, but I am just confused in this instance.

it just makes other forums look better in my opinion.

Other sites do what they do, we do what we do.

We have a simple policy. We support and respect the band that this site is about.

It's not really a weird concept.

It's all about integrity at the end of the day.

I could not stand for a site that was a breeding ground for negativity and/or hate.

I'm just not interested to be "the guy who runs that site that's constantly bashing the band".

To be associated with that kind of shit does not interest me.

So I get made fun of, insulted, ridiculed, discredited and so on. Whatever.

At least I can say that I'm part of running a site that supports GN'R and is trying to bring something positive to the table instead of worrying about my personal online "image".

/jarmo

fair enough, after all it's your site, and yeah it is positive, i'm sure gnr thank you for it.

the mods run around insulting people on this site all the time, i hope you warn yourself lol, looks like you guys love those online images?!, i could be wrong.

Freedom of speech (as in, the right granted to you in the constitution of the United States), opionion, etc have ZERO to do with a privately owned, privately operated forum on the internet.  Zero.

I'm not sure why people think it does.....

Not really, but I guess it could be seen as insulting when somebody comes here to start shit and I'm not welcoming that person with open arms.

I will also tell you when I think you're wrong. Some people can't handle that because they're always right....

All those are valid points on the other page I am too lazy to quote at the moment.

My definition of message forums are places for people to debate different things.

If everyone agreed or shared the exact same views, message forums would be ghost towns.

I do agree about people who post just for the sake of hating or being negative. Those people should get the fuck out, but there have been a whole lot of times though, where any constructive criticism  is either deleted or just attacked.

Jim Bob you talked about are we fans or parents, but the way you post in the VR section or how u attack anything non GNR related, makes me think you act more as a parent than a fan.

If I say I don't like something, I would love that to be respected and have a nice debate/conversation about why I don't like it instead of being labeled or treated like I am a troll or hater because I don't like a certain something.

I can say I think Robin does awesome on the Better and SOD solos, but if I say I hate his TIL solo, u or someone will think I am hating on him cause he isn't "Slash" or whatever when all I am doing is giving my honest opinion on something.

the bands in the Bad Obsession I praise more for different reasons.

1. I make way more GNR  posts so there is a much better chance of something being negative

2. I don't hold NIN to the same standard as GNR for instance as I am a casual NIN fan, I buy the Cd's but I'm not emotionally invested in them. So if they release a single or don't do this or that, I really don't care because I don't consider myself an enormous fan and the same goes for most of the other bands I praise.

I don't get negative about Bon Jovi and other bands on here cause there is enough from other members, so I just try and show them where they are wrong. just like if a bunch of people were wrong and saying stuff about GNR that wasn't true, I'd be the first to correct them or try to show them where they are wrong.

I can assure u though, I posted on a Bon Jovi forum www.keepinthefaith.co.uk for a long time and I had more than my share of criticisms.

This thread doesnt really have a topic so. im going to ask.

Do the fans on the Bon Jovi forum boards have two sides, those that complain the newer material sucks cause it doesnt rock, n those that are all "move with the times mannn" n love the band still?

I wonder what the thinking behind those threads are?

Seriously.

I could maybe understand it on a Megadeth board....

It is untelling, maybe the Napster thing still has people pissed.

I did post on a RHCP message forum some and that forum was more like this one where u didnt see a lot of negativity.

I think u also have to factor that Axl is a pretty polarizing figure also which also leads to a lot of the discussions etc.

Has their ever been a more polarizing rock star than Axl in music history?

Not having been answered as to what exactly a 'Nob' is...I took it upon myself to Google it:

Nob is a village mentioned in the Book of Judges

Nob may also refer to:

Nob, Israel, a place in the vicinity of Jerusalem
Non-occluded baculovirus, a genus of virus
Newell's Old Boys, a popular football team from Rosario, Argentina
NOB, Nederlandse Onderwatersport Bond, (Dutch Underwater sports Union), a broadcast facility company in the Netherlands
NOB, a branch of the international diving organization CMAS in Holland.
Nobuo Yamada, a Japanese singer better known as NoB
Nob Yoshigahara, a Japanese puzzle-maker
NOB, Narodno-osvobodilna borba - Yugoslav people's national liberation struggle during World War II
National Liberation War of Macedonia, a regional offensive of the Yugoslav People's Liberation War
Nob: the glans (or "head") of the penis, commonly used in the United Kingdom. Sometimes used as a insult.

I can only assume that the writer is using the UK connotation 'sometimes used as an insult'...in the states we use the more descriptive "Dick-Head", so as to avoid any misunderstanding.  That being the most probably case, I must disagree with the premise of this thread.  Jarmo is not a 'Nob'.  Jarmo is the owner/administrator of one of the, if not the best, GnR boards...if you don't like it, post elsewhere...very simple.  If you want to excercise your right to free speech - start your own website, and spend hours a day doing battle with people who are just there to agitate.
