Heading to 3 GNR Shows in 2010.

« Reply #1 on: September 28, 2008, 03:21:33 PM »

Hey Guys,  i have a litte story too

My brother caught Axl's mic at the Halifax show on November 20, 2006.  I was sitting in section 7 row B with my girlfriend ,  section 7 is the closest section to the stage, so i had no chance of getting the mic because Axl throws it full force.  Anyways, my brother was in section 10 which is like section 116 in the Scotiabank place.  Once the mic landed about 25 people jumped for it, after a bit of a scuffle and some pushing my brother came out victoirius with the mic in his hand. My brother likes GNR but he is not a hardcore fan like me, he is 6 years younger than me so he was only about 4 years old when appetite came out.  I asked my brother if he would let me have it for my GNR collection and his answer was NO!!!!, i even offered him money.   He said he is gonna sell it for as much money as he could get for it and told me to grow up and act my age as it is only a fuckin Microphone,  Those words made me feel like shit and it hurt because he is not the kind of guy to be so blunt and rude.  Anyways, on Christmas Day we were exchanging our gifts and my whole family was there, when it came time for me and my brother to exchange gifts, he passed me this big box that didn't weight much and it made no sound when you shook it.  I then figured it was a shirt or a sweater like every other year. When i opened the gift i nearly shit myself because inside that gift was the mic,  My brother then came over and shook my hand and said, Do you think i would have sold it to someone else when my own brother was a huge GNR fan.   I still have the mic to his day, I had a red and black box specially made for it with velvet lining and the microphone fits perfect in it.

I just thought i share that litte story with everyone, i meant to post this story long ago but i never had the time to do it as i work alot.  I figured this would be a perfect time to tell the story as i had the day off.

PS, I will post pictures of it when i get a printer, actually i might go tommorow to get a printer because i have tommorow off too.  I also have about 20 photos from the Halifax Show, i would have got more but security caught me and stood in front me for the rest of the show, It was kind of hard to keep concealing when i was about 4 or 5 feet from the stage lol, I also got about a dozen 60 second video clips on my cell phone .  I tried to upload them to you tube but it never works, i guess i need an adapter of some sort for it.

Later   ok

Cool it's much better to get one from a show you attended.
Also a great story and nice of your brother to give it to you.

I feel lucky to have found an authentic Axl microphone that I could afford.
My microphone hit a guy full on in the face then came to land at a girls feet
The girl hid it in her pants until she got out of the stadium.

PS you should post some pictures
