Bad idea to go with an unknown songer. Might as well be Snakepit version 3.0
Didn't one of the Snakepit albums go platinum? Libertad sold about 300,000 or so, so an unknown could be an upgrade.
I don't know about the sales figures, but more albums were sold back when Snakepit was around than nowadays.  So it's tough to compare those kind of figures.

I wouldn't mind if they went with an unknown singer.   Wink

Bottom line is no matter who VR gets, they need some big songs, which they have not made, they made decent songs.  When the VR members were in another band and had a different singer they were awesome, but with scott they were no where near as good, so it is vital they get the right singer

You could also argue that Scott made better songs with another band too, just to be fair.

absolutely

the styles werent the best match and that can result in two things

1) something interesting comes out of it

2) the music sounds a little forced

I think at times VR were very good (slither, ftp, just sixteen, let it roll etc) but theres too much filler especially on Libertad...Great live band but just dont have enough great songs

I hope they choose a great singer and make some great music
