Hi all,

Not sure if anyone can help me out on this... I don't tend to believe Wikipedia at the best of times, but when I daw this I had to question it. If you search for the track "Highway To Hell" by A/DC it says at the bottom that this song was covered by Slash's Snakepit. Since I read that I have managed to find a studio version of the song with what sounds like Slash playing on it. I have all the Snakepit albums, including the Japan only version of Ain't Life Grand with the bonus tracks, and havent ever even heard of this version before now. Where was this originally released?

Also I think the discography on Wikipedia for Slash is wrong. It doesn't match up with snakepit.org and I know for a fact that a few tracks I have are missing.

I also thought it might be the Quiet Riot version but I've had a listen to that and compared the singing and although the voices are similar the syncing of the words doesn't match and there's some different guitar parts in it.

This has obviously come from somewhere though with it being on wikipedia.

He covered "Highway to Hell" with the comedian whose name slips my mind back in 1989 or 1990.  He also was part of "Wild Thing".  I just can't remember his name.....  Its the comedian from "Back to SChool" that scream in class.

NOW I REMEMBER!!! SAM KENNISON!!!!!!!!!!!

Was that a studio version?

I thought that was a live version on one of his albums?

Sam Kinison did "Highway to Hell", Mississippi Queen", "Under My Thumb", & "Gonna Raise Hell" off of his Leader of the Banned comedy CD. Slash was a guest musician along with CC Deville, Dweezil Zappa and others. You can't really pick Slash out of the mix. It's like his playing on Alice Cooper's "Hey Stoopid"; buried under flashy 80's shreding.

On Highway to Hell you can hear Slash just fine, it sounds just like him playing the rhythm and lead parts. That lead is classic Slash.

On Hey Stoopid you easily can tell which is his solo too, at least I can anyway! ok

What exactly does Slash play on that Insane Clown Posse song? I can't hear him anywhere in the mix.
