It's the year 2012.  25 years after their blistering debut, "Appetite for Destruction," the surviving members of the original lineup of Guns N' Roses are attending the ceremony inducting them in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

After the acceptance speech, the band takes the stage for the first time since 1993, one of the most anticipated reunions in rock history....the crowd is waiting with baited breath for the openings chords............

So what would you want them to play in the moment?  If they only get ONE song...you know it's gonna be one of the Big Three (Jungle, Sweet Child, or Paradise City.)   Man, that's a tough choice isn't it?  I mean...Jungle seems the obvious frontrunner, but Sweet Child would work too I think...but Paradise City just feels like a closer.

Now if they get to play about four songs, I'd bet Knockin' On Heaven's Door would be there too, cause the Rock Hall shows are a good place to celebrate the history of rock and honor the past, so a classic cover isn't out of the question.  besides, it lends itself well to the "All Star Jams" that the Rock Hall ceremonies usually have.  Just imagine...Axl and Slash joined onstage by whoever the "hot" young artist is at the time, someone we've never even heard of yet...maybe he's just a kid playing in a garage somewhere...but he'll get the thrill of his life inducting GNR into the Rock Hall and then maybe jamming with them onstage.

Yeah, I could see Jungle/Sweet Child/Patience/Knockin/Paradise City.....

So yeah, I know it's really far off, but it's the only circumstances that I see them ever getting back together.  I just hope they all stay healthy and live long enough (Mr Adler, I'm looking in your direction....)

So what do you think....just imagine THAT MOMENT.....the one SO many people have been waiting for for SO LONG....what song should they perform to capture that moment??  (which almost coulda happened this summer at the Adler's Appetite thing, you know....)

PS....I don't know if this is a dead horse or not....I was just sitting here daydreaming about it and thought it'd be fun to discuss...it's not like there's any REAL news.....

I honestly don't think the Rock Hall will be the reason for a reunion. Its not like Axl, Duff, Slash, or even Izzy are just gonna get back together just for that, especially if Axl or the other guys have things going on.

Personally, I doubt we'll see GNR inducted in 2012. It took Sabbath forever to get inducted, and chances are a lot of shitty bands from the 80's will be getting in first.

Umm, no. ?My preference would be for all the members of Guns N Roses to be present. ?If you want a performance, that would be up to the members of the band in 2012. ? peace

Hall of Fame only recognizes the members that made the band great

So it would be the original lineup and maybe Sorum and Dizzy Reed possibly *although he doesn't have any songwriting credits, so its gonna be interesting if those two are included.

I hope they don't go the way of Van Halen and have some other band play a song of theirs.  I dont know a band that could pull off the vocals....

What if I believe the old and new band are what collectively make the band great?  Huh
How did Pink Floyd go in?  Just curious.

if they only get one song it'd have to be WTTJ.

if they get four i'd say they should have WTTJ as the opener then YCBM then November rain then as a closer bring the new G'n'R and have them join the old in a spectical and play something from CHINESE DEMOCRACY and as an encour they play paradise city OR something else from CD I or II or III or who knows maybe even IV.

can't wait for that day to come Smiley

peace

songs: most likely are wttj or scom IMO

I think i share the same thoughts with you on this one ok and yeah, bands like NWA will probably get inducted in the RnRHoF before GNR, wich is so lame, can't their genres start their own HoF? Undecided

Yeah 2012 , might be the first year of chance but I doubt it the RRHOF is really idiotic in their selections. I mean if Steven , Izzy and Duff got back for the 20 year AFD at Key Club , I'm sure Slash would join in for the HOF , but Axl..... I doubt it , I mean that be a slap to all the current members faces PLUS its not like he will just "do it" you know.
