its weird how they are not playing the MEN this time, maybe a summer tour at the MEN and bigger arenas?

Why is it weird?

/jarmo

because they did their promo tour back in july, would have thought it would be followed by an aerna tour like last time

To play in arenas that might not even be half full?

just give it some time, the Amsterdam gig was only released a week ago, I'm sure they'll do other countries in Europe aswell..they probably just haven't announced them yet. as for the UK, the UK always has a lot of concert from bands because they're touring the entire country, not just one city..

Really? I had no idea they're an arena band.....

How come there's still tickets for the London show available?

If they were an arena band, shouldn't they be able to sell out Brixton Academy in a couple of days?

Leeds University, Manchester Apollo and Glasgow Academy all have tickets available. I didn't bother checking the rest....

Fair point, and i dont think they sold many aernas out last time, but they were far from empty

Just wondered after promoting the album in july, maybe they would go on a arena tour also, like they did last time

or maybe they learnt they can't sell enough tickets for that

or maybe they just prefer smaller venues, which i also prefer for them

Well, as far as I can tell, last time they were hyped a lot more and their album was selling way more than the current one.

It debuted higher than Contraband in the UK, which seems to be the only major market where that happened.

It still doesn't mean there's a bigger demand in the UK for VR than in 2004-2005....

Well no... I don?t think their fan base grew much around the world with the new album... but still I?m quite sure there loads of people who wants to see them here in Europe... although may not be enough to fill arenas... yeah.

to be honest i think alot of people were going to see them solely to see slash. and now that novelty has worn off it's not as easy to sell tickets.

Thats why Im going, if Slash wasnt in the Band I dont think Id bother - I have both of the albums the 1st is good the 2nd is patchy but listenable.
BTW I thought when VR played the UK in summer 2007, they played the Apollo In Manchester? Just after Download.
I remember them playing MEN Areana in 2005

Thats something they say to try and cover for the fact that they can't sell out bigger places.

Got my tickets to Brigton and am staying at the Travel lodge on the beach, anyone know any good late licence bars with a decent rock, indie theme to them where we can go party afterwards.
