Certainly nothing groundbreaking or overtly newsworthy, but it's nice to see Axl being recognized and appreciated.

If you go to that link and click on the Axl pic at the bottom of the page, another list pops up.

Not a bad pic either for a change!

There are a list of guidelines that they used for the list....for example, they didn't count anyone who both sings AND plays guitar, hence no Mustaine, Hetfield, etc. They also didn't count anyone who has a band named after themselves, since they consider it essentially a solo act rather than a full band (Springsteen). I'm paraphrasing here, but if you check out the site, you should find their disclaimer as to why they left certain obvious choices out...

There was a GNR reference on Nightline? Cool, do you remember what the topic was?

Good list imho, Axl, DLR, Bon Scott, Steven Tyler, Joey Ramone, Iggy Pop, Robert Plant, Ozzy, Jim Morrisson, Mick Jagger.
Very well picked list imho.

It was about how stuff from the nineties was coming back into this decade. Of the many things mentioned, Bashir mentioned how we listened to Guns N' Roses' Use Your Illusion 1 and 2...and then they showed a picture of Velvet Revolver and that Axl picture that EW used.

I dont think it was meant to be in any particular order. They put bon jovi as one of the first artists.

I agree. It wasn't a ranking as much as a general list...
