I think their friendship started right around the UYI tour when Skid Row was opening up for GNR, they hung out quite a lot during that period if my memory serves me correctly...last time they spoke around that time was when the UYI tour was almost at an end...then all of a sudden 13 years later Axl calls Doc McGhee (Sebastian Bach's manager when he was in Skid Row and manager of VH1's Supergroup) to ask for Sebastian's phonenumber right around the Hammerstein gigs and they seem to be friends again ever since. I think it was something along those lines.
