AntiVirGear is a virus that pretends to be anti-virus software. It's on my computer and it's PISSING ME OFF. rant

Does anyone know anything that will remove this and doesn't tell me that I have to pay first before it will do anything? Basically, I want software that's genuinely free and removes this thing. If such a thing exists.

I managed to get rid of it, though it was with the instructions that I found here.
