I know Scott said it is a Concept Album, and that was confirmed I think alter by Duff. Year Zero... that is a concept album. I get it. This VR album (from what I have heard of it so far), ummm not so much. So can someone explain the concept because I'm not hearing it.

...oh and thank you.

I'm too lazy to find the quote but later Scott said something along the lines of...

"Too many bands are doing concept records right now just to jump on a bandwagon so we decided to nix the idea"

Someone else will probably put the quote up later

I believe they abandoned the concept when it wasn't working.

And though Weiland told Billboard.com last year he intended to weave an overall concept throughout the album, he has since "thrown that idea out the window. In my opinion, there are so many schlock concept albums that have come out in the past year," he says, without naming names. "The ground is way too over-fertile with concept records. I prefer to write a lean and rather vicious rock'n'roll record. I think that would be a better contribution to rock'n'roll at this moment."

Weiland said the there are too many concept albums that have come out in the past year, so they abandoned the ''concept''

Matt (or whoever said it) was right about ''danceable''. I can imagine myself dancing ''Roll over right, Keep it though the night, Right, Right, Keep it though the night'' over a speaker at a disco  hihi

For sure, I think we've found the new davegnfnr2k..

Beyond that bit of wit and wisdom...

No concepts here, straight riff driven, groove laden rock music.

Thank fucking God.

Yes, because people dance to the lyrics, after all.  Then again, considering your arbitrary descriptions in prior posts, you might actually believe that.

Yep, sure did.?

Great groove, a stealth solo and abstract lyrical content - all attributes of Ian and Billy.

Sweet.

I think the concept has to do with a cowboy.

I think its too bad they didnt try something new. I really do. Slash in my opinion of course, is so underutilized. That is a topic in itself.
