I can't believe some of the people on here. Slash makes comments regarding Axl? and you jump on his back, Slash doesn't comment on Axl and you STILL jump on his back. I guess the guy just can't win eh??
Well SlashRock old son, look what section you're in. It's the section of a forum where people are encouraged to bash the musicians who wrote the songs they still listen too and love which is beyond bizarre.
Certain people here like to believe that the press always quotes Slash verbatim and always mis-quotes or mis-represents Axl.
Anyway, I don't get why people think it's such a big deal for him to harbour an interest in going out once more with his old band. He was there from day one, gave it many years of his life, helped craft all their biggest tunes, toured them all over the world and became who he is on the strength of them. I think he has EVERY right to hold the idea that they could work together again. Despite what the box room keyboard heroes here say, that?s what the vast majority of the world would rather see.
He has had the balls to try and fail with other projects, get out there and try to start over. He has mended his fences with all of his old band mates (bar one) and is still a GREAT FUCKING PLAYER. I was lucky enough to have a few beers with him in Dublin many moons ago and he was a gentleman. No ego, no bullshit, no special treatment, just Guinness and good conversation.
I?m sure he could care less what anybody here (including me) has to say about him. But getting worked up over some of these guys is a waste of your energies. Let?s just look forward to another summer of Slash?s sublime guitar playing
