Axl wouldn't be that stupid to add any more "new songs" to the setlist then what has already been there since 06.

Think about it, the more new songs they play, the more bootlegs there is going to be (esp considering japan with technology), which will , iN Axls eyes,
spoil the album even more, caus people will download the new songs, and the album won't appear "fresh" anymore and not generate the sales, which
Axl is intent on making.

So in the short answer, dont expect too many new songs, if any, in this new tour, considering every new song theyv played, there is already fam remastered, clean recording/bootlegs.

That's right, BUT this also happened before the UYI albums were released and I don't think they sold just one copy less because someone already had a live-version of a new song. The album could still appear very fresh 'cause there's a big difference between live and studio versions. And I guess only fans download the live concerts and will buy the album regardless.
I hope someone leaks a some new songs before the tour starts 'cause if that hadn't happened in 2006 GN'R probably wouldn't have played IRS or Better and the setlist would have been the same as in 2002.
edit: About the rehearsals; I don't think they discuss their places on stage or anything like that. They probably just practise the songs, without the vocals if Axl's not there.

was it axl who said the guys had all learnt down on the farm without him then they asked to have it put in the setlist?

that makes it seem like they practice without him a lot of the time

Before the tour last year Guns were in LA for a month and a half rehearsing without Axl while he was still in New York in the Studio. A week before the Hammerstein warmup shows the entire band and crew flew out to NY and rehearsed there with Axl present.

The band rehearses on their own and then Axl joins them at the last minute!

Hmm, that raises an interesting point.  Do you think Axl will go to Japan to rehearse?

Usually the band rehearses without Axl and then Axl drops in right before the tour starts.

It's been that way since the early 1990s.

I think it might be different this time around. Because Axl sounded a lot better than he did in 2002. You only get to that point by practicing. Even Axl Rose gets rusty.

And GnR playing new material on the UYI tour is apples and oranges to now. Back then they didn't have to worry about things getting on the internet 5 seconds after the last note of the song was done ringing.

I don't think playing new songs would be a good thing, specially if Axl is really willing to release the damn album soon.

I wouldn't mind to see some Illusions songs on the setlist, it's very unlikely but who could say they would play Down on the Farm last tour? I think the new band can easily play any of their older songs, guess we'll have to wait and see...

It wont surprise me tough if the set will be the same again, opening with jungle/easy/brownstone, playing the "old" new songs and closing with PC, the band members must be all bored to play all the same everytime.......

This could be a dead horse topic, but I haven't really seen this topic discussed before.? We all know that the band rehearses.? We were made aware that they are rehearsing for the upcoming shows.? My questions are these:? What goes on during rehearsals, aside from what we know?? How do they rehearse, individually, as a band?? Do they practice stage presence and set up?? Do they play without any of Axl's vocals, or is they a recording of Axl going on while they play?

Was thinking about this today ....

I believe Axl has said that he can't do half-baked rehearsals and always goes full throttle. Therefore, he let the other members get the music as perfect as possible and then shows up. I think he said that was already the way he was doing it back with the old guys.

Before the last tour they were on the rehearsal schedule at Center Staging in Burbank, CA but the parking lot was always empty on those days and I never saw or heard any sign of them.
