Believe me, I've heard that song a thousand times and I have every different version of it available.

Axl rapping WOULD SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Doing a quick rap in the middle of song is different than making a rap song with a rapper.  Axl rapping would suck.  He's not a fucking rapper, he's a rocker.  I never once said, "Axl sucks at rapping."  The idea of it sucks.  Do I need to explain it further.

Axl's great at everything he does, RAPPING INCLUDED.  If you're not prepared to support him in his artistic endeavors, then you can't call yourself a fan.

An entire GNR album with a rap flavor? No thanks. But a few tracks in collaboration with a rapper? Could be good. Ice-T's Body Count could have worked if the band wasn't so musically retarded, and Public Enemy have done a couple of decent rock influenced (in fact, quite Buckethead flavored) tracks on the last couple of albums.

I could see it working out if the right people were involved. I know that the whole nu-metal thing has already been brought up as an example of why it would be a horrible idea, but I would contend that the reason that nu-metal is so horrendous has more to do with lack of talent than a fundamental flaw in the idea.

I think it depends on the rapper - I think Eminem would be a good fit for him - otherwise forget it.

How many of you have considered the possibility of a rap producer producing something other than rap? I'm not referencing Axl's foray into that genre with "It Tastes Good Don't It"; the title of this thread refers to the production of an album. I think it's a given that we don't want nor will Chinese Democracy be a rap album...

I don't know of any rap producers who have produced any rock albums, however; thus, I don't feel it would be appropriate for me to even speculate about how someone such as an Eminem or a Dr. Dre would produce one because I don't listen to rap. My assumption is that it'd be bass heavy and have louder vocals in the mix.

But... if you still don't like the idea of that, what's the point in upsetting yourself over something that likely won't happen? A potentially reasonable discussion tends to go awry with such negativity and pessimism.

My World wasn't bad enough?

Jesus fucking Christ on the cross!? When will you guys lighten up.? I can understand some people not liking My World because their ears aren't trained for that kind of music, but it's a really cool original song.? Its the closest old GnR got to having a "Pitman" sound.

I just happen to have extremely great taste in music.  That's why I'm a fan of today's Guns N' Roses.  And who's at the center of that crazy, funky electro-beats?  One guy... Chris "Mother Goose" Pitman.  Not only does he write and peform songs, but he's also the "sound designer."

do you think that a guns n roses album produced with a rap star would be anygood? and yes i kno chinese democracy is not out but im jus saying.

elton john was thinking of producing an album with rappers like eminem and dr dre etc.

do you guys think axl n co would make a good record or a single with any rap star?

i remember axl sang 'it tastes good dont it'? and that was pretty cool

what do you guys think?

Axl's a rap fan...  I can't imagine him turning it down if someone he likes (rap artist) asked him about it and gave him a good offer...  but I personally don't think it be a "good thing" but not necessarily a bad thing either.

Dude you sound more and more like a tool each time you post. If someone doesn't love a song its their right to post what parts they dislike and what parts then do like. A "real" fan or whatever you want to call do not like everything jammed down their throat.
