 ok

After reading some other reviews and comments on the show, I want to add mine.

1st is to address the guitar solo's and also Dizzy's piano solo:

THEY ROCKED. ?Really all were amazing. ?I was wondering why all the bad press on them and all I could think of is that people aren't jumping up and down and air guitaring (pianoing) along with them. ?But that doesn't mean people are enjoying them. ?I went with four other people and 3 of them have never been to a GNR show. One only owns the Greatest Hits CD, one has only been a fan for about 3-4 month's and the other after the show asked "Is Axl Rose the singer?" ?Aside from all being new fans, they all LOVED the guitar solo's. ?No complaints, in fact they said that was some of the shows highlights.

2nd to address is the opener's:

Girls With Low Self Esteem, A.K.A. the Suicide Girls ?< ?Dumb, who wants to watch walking STD's?

Helmet ? < ?It would have been more entertiaing to have an actaul helmet on the stage.

Sebastian Bach Band ? < ?Put on a "good" show. ?Very entertaining. ?Though some of the "street cred" I give Baz for rocking for 20 years sorta was side tracked when my friend (who asked which one Axl Rose was) said "Is he on the Gilmore Girls?" ?Unfortunatley I told the truth and said yes.

With all the openers it made the night go by quicker and there was only about 30 minutes between sets.

3rd : ?The Crowd

Of course w/ that many people there going to be some losers. ?If you need to be drunk or stoned to watch your favorite band, get a new favorite band. ? More than likely it's them selves they don't like, not the band, why else would they require dubious amounts of alcohol/drugs just to have a good time. ?I mean its AXL ROSE!!! ?How would one need anything else?!

That said the crowd seemed to enjoy the show over all. ?A lot of screaming and dancing and a very active floor. ?Either some people had to catch the last train of they don't understand that when band says good night, they're still playing a couple more for the encore.

4th and last but not least, the actual show!!!!

Amamzing. ?Sure one's enjoyment might be equal to the fan they are already are. ?The set list as you might have seen was incredible. ?The band clearly LOVED playing the new songs the most. ?Why wouldn't they? ?The new stuff is flippin' awesome. ?"Better" seemed to be when Axl gave his most energy too. ?But "The Blues" was insanely memorable. ?He easily just hopped up in the piano that Dizzy was playing, and sang his braided head off. ?Axl has such phenonal showmanship, a rock star at his best. ?All night I felt like I was at their best show of the tour.

Axl's voice was great, but KOHD on it seemed to really shine. ?The only thing that matched his voice was this man's charisma. ?He was magnetic to watch.

Here's a little side note die hards might find interesting. ?I was on the righthand side facing the stage and could see Beta also on the righthand side there leaning agianst the railing watching the show. ?Behind her was a black boxed room where Axl would run into during some parts he wasn't singing, to change his shirt and what not. ?He'd run in there and Beta would quickly follow him in there, or she would stay in there. ?One time or two they just quickly talked, and Axl would sorta nod his head. ?What a curious realtionship they have. ?Also when Axl was dancing to the music and about to "sneak" off stage he almost seemed to make it so that noone would notice he was leaving the stage, as if he just blended in and there wasn't sold out audience of thousands and thousands of people watching.

The Stage: ?It was such an good stage, the 2nd level gives the band some depth and room to play on, visually it was interesting.

The Lighting: ?was great! Right from the begining of the show with multiple spotlights searching the crowd to November Rain's begining with the row of lights on the front of the stage, it was a great light show. ?Fire works and pyro was great too.

If I recall right the show started about 11:50pm and went until 2:20am.

Unfortunatley my digital camera is broken so I took a disposable camera. ?If anyone took pictures at the show please let me know.

Cheers!

Kickin' back in the shadows

The concert was great.
Axl commented at the end of the show that there was a "fuck of a lot of people at the concert"
During KOHD he had to ask the crowd on the floor to take a step back because everyone was pushing so hard towards the stage.

He joked that he needed the monitors for his lyrics because he was getting so stoned from all the weed in the crowd that he would otherwise forget the words. peace

He also said at the end of the show "Good night, eh!" which is how us Canadians talk, eh!

The mix sounded ok where i was watching from. There were a few glitches though, but no big deal.
I yawned about 6 times during Paradise City because I was getting so motherfucking tired since it was almost 2:30am and I was up early and out all day sightseeing.

Bach was great. I really enjoyed his set. Helmet was forgettable and I arrived to late to see the suicide girls.
Had a nice drive up to Edmonton today, and I am just on my way out to see em again.
