Why cant other songs be single releases?

everyone is talking about better being the single if a SINGLE is released before the album...how come people are not thinking about other songs like TWAT, madagascar etc as being single releases? everyone is just talking about better.

Because TWAT is too long to be a viable single.  November Rain was the exception to the rule.  Madagscar isn't really a single type of song at least IMO.  Better works because it has the makings of a single, it is a very catchy tune but it doesn't really sound like everything out there, so it'll stand out from the crowd.  From the songs we've heard so far, the best singles IMO are Better and The Blues

everyone is talking about Better because of the Harley Davidson advert which showed Better as the music, and thus, everyone assumes, perhaps not incorrectly, that Better may be the first single. (My money was on IRS untill a short time ago).

Better is a rocker. TWAT is not. Better is (was/will) on H-D ad. TWAT is not.

Better is the ONLY song that has been leaked/played live that would be a good choice for a LEAD single...meaning the 1st one to be on radio/tv ads/blah blah

It rocks, it's catchy and poppy yet not sappy, and it is different.

Madagascar is cool, but not a radio hit. IRS is the smae. TWAT is too long. Chinese Democracy is too boring, and the Blues is too sappy and ballady. I doubt Rhiad or SIlk Worms were even considered

I still think there has got to be some more songs in the bag that will be/are better choices. It would not hurt my feelings to see CD, The Blues, Madagascar and IRS not be on the album(although CD is the name of the album....so Im sure the song will be there)

No one said that "Better" would be the ONLY single.  There's no reason why there can't be anywhere between 1 to 4 singles for this album.  As long as the album continues to sell, there should be singles released through out 2007 as well.
