Oh my god, I just listened to the song again.

"Pussy full of maggots, isn't that absurd!
What can I do with a bitch like you!"

 rofl

Pitman, oh, sweet Pitman, it's glorious.

"Fucking little schemer got yourself a broken heart
Parasitic demons sucking acid through your heart"

Seriously, what was he taking when he wrote that?

And did he use a thesaurus to write a death metal song?

I can just imagine the first time Pitman showed this to Axl.

Axl: "Oh yeah...this is JUST like a Nine Inch Nails song! Awesome!"

Then everyone hates it and Axl kicks Pitman's ass for betraying him.? rofl

 rofl Thats easy to imagine.

the song is ok
is like a industrial punk song
raw guitars, really fast, no solo but with synths blur and ambient stuff in the background
the vocals are very sex pistols influenced..

This song is great. Honestly.

Same with Rhaid.

I really hope to hear this song on a B-side or something someday.

Exactly how I feel about it. It reminds me of an electronica version of "It's So Easy." I like the song, granted it's a bit of a mess - But it's a way more interesting song than Rhiad or even CD, the title track.

silkworms is a nice song and i'd like to hear a finished studio of it.
but i don't think it will be on the album. maybe as a b-side or a bonus track.

I don't know. When I heard songs like this from GNR.. I was pretty excited for Chinese Democracy. I thought it could be really different and awesome.

I'm not saying I thought Silkworms was a masterpiece.. but it was a step in a new direction.

And I'm still excited for CD.. but it just doesn't seem like it's going to revolutionize anything. Back in 02.. nobody had a clue what the record was gonna sound like.. and I think people had higher expectations.

Rhiad and Silkworms stylistically are quite similar - Axl's vocals are also very similar on the songs. Axl's voice always evolves over the years - every time he resurfaces it's different (86, 88, 91, 93, 94, 95, 99, 01, 02, and 06 all differ to some degree) and I think Rhiad and Silkworms were probably written around 1999 when Axl began experimenting with the higher pitch. I think he was trying to sound more like John and Mercury with the high falsetto coupled with the fact that he had destroyed his vocal chords earlier in his life - '91 is when he did the most damage. Someone told me their vocal coach used to use Axl as an example of how NOT to sing because doing so like that will literally destroy your voice.

I think to help compensate for this he began singing at a higher pitch and lost a lot of the rasp/grit - and Rhiad and Silkworms were an experimentation with this new style.

However I think Rhiad is a far better song and gets a bad rap on GN'R forums because we only have shitty bootlegs - if you heard TWAT as a bootleg and didn't hear the demo I know I for one wouldn't care for it nearly as much as i do right now, Axl's voice was just weak on it.
