The guy WAS and Is one of the funniest comedians ever!  He made me laugh more back in the day than anyone else.  I have seen him live in Vegas and on HBO and to this day i still crack up at his stuff.

Axl couldn't go wrong with him introducing them!

Axl and Sam Kinison were kinda tight.  Kinison was Clay's competitor and used to bad-mouth him on stage from time to time.  I can imagine Sam giving Axl his opinion of Clay and clouding his judgment about him, but who knows.

Seeing as that's a promotional event for Dice and Axl had nothing to do with that album or the label (Def American) - I would have to say that Axl came in support as a friend.  Plus I have NEVER seen Dice light anybody else's smoke - exept the kid in Ford Failaine's smoke - which of course was a joke.

Or maybe Axl needed to hire "Mr. Rock N' Roll Detective" to get to the bottom of who was fucking with his rider.

Dice performing on MTV, got him Banned for LIFE!  I saw this live and was laughing my ass off!

Also, some Axl Rose mentions from one of his albums, VERY appropriate to today, don't you think?

"People are driving me out of my mind with my fucking stupid rhymes that I hate to do. Don't get me wrong, when I first did them, it was creative. I'll tell you the way it is. A comic creates a bit, like a musician comes up with a song. If Axl Rose always only did 'Welcome To The Jungle,' and that's all he ever did, wouldn't you get fucking bored with it? So I came up with the poems, people really dug it, I did a few concert tours and I did the fucking poems. Now everywhere I go, people say, 'Do the poems.' No! I hate the fucking poems. You have no fucking idea how I feel about those fucking poems. I wish I never came up with the fucking poems. People come up to me in the mall, at the car wash, in the fucking supermarket, 'You know that poem you do, Little Miss Muffet?' 'No, I don't know it. I've done it fifty thousand fucking times in under four years, how the fuck don't I know it?' And then the guy looks at me like, 'Oh, you wanna have an attitude about it.'"

Hey, you know those nursery rhymes Dice invented? The real reason he got sick of performing them and said he wished he'd never come up with them is because he DIDN'T come up with them!

 Wink

Anyway, back on topic - which album does he mention Axl on? I own all his albums but don't recall hearing that. Care to tell me which track it is?

i saw dice at msg when he filmed his "dice rules" movie. he was fucking great back then. now i think he's a washed up hack. for many years he was good friends with howard stern and then stern stopped having him on his show. so dice jumped on opie and anthony's back. then OA got fired and went to xm satelite radio so now dice is back on sterns show. seems like dice leeches onto others fame and tries to get some press off them.
