A great music rating site. No, seriously, this one is good.

Unlike most pop sites, this one has notable underground (and mainstream) metal bands scoring very high on their highest rated lists. I was a bit shocked to see so much quality material represented, despite not being well known. Here are some examples. Let's look at the year 1990.

1990- Rust in Peace (Megadeth) is #1, Seasons in the Abyss (Slayer) is #4, Painkiller (Judas Priest) is #6, Hammerheart (Bathory) is #9, Cowboys From Hell (Pantera) is #14, Left Hand Path (Entombed) is #35, Deicide (Deicide) is #37, Eliogabalus (Devil Doll) is #38, Spiritual Healing (Death) is #43, and so on.

Here are some more interesting ratings. The Sound of Perseverance (Death) was #2 for 1998 and #85 overall. Hvis Lyset Tar Oss (Burzum) was #14 for 1994. Sad Wings of Destiny (Judas Priest) was #6 for 1976. Agent Orange (Sodom) was #8 for 1989. No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith (Motorhead) was #8 for 1981.

It's just cool to see underground metal given its due respect. In fact, I will check out the non-metal bands on the site, since the people there seem to have good taste.

I know Walk's musical posts are not for everyone but i dig a lot of his recommendations a couple of which are White power based vocals. Does that mean i automatically agree with the lyrical content?

I do not know Walk in any shape or form, i only know that he recommends new bands to us on the forum, some that people dont agree with. Thats fine, thats your perrogative and opinion. An opinion you have a right to voice......

In every single thread that Walk creates bar one or two, though? Don't you think thats a little excessive?

Well as long as we dont get a whole host of bands copying the legends. If they try and take it a different way then it could mean the genre being injected with a new lease of life.

This thread has got nothing to with White Power. People need to get over the fact that forum member walk likes some white power music and start to look at the thread in question instead of bringing it up constantly.

Maybe you just look past the talent of bands cause of their sound, lyrics, or personal views. Walk happens to enjoy bands that I enjoy and too say someone like Dimebag Darrel doesnt deserve respect if fucking stupid and you have no right listening to music. Or how about Zakk Wylde? No respect deserved? Kerry King? No respect deserved? Pepper Keegan? No respect deserved? Like I said get a clue.

no...i dont...but there is a difference between something that is offensive and especially degrading to other cultures and something else that isnt...i may not share similar beliefs but i dont listen to bands that go out to degrade others...ie encouraging violence against jews, and blacks, praising hitlers regime...whatever...i stay well away from that shit...liking these bands tells me that there is some underlying negative behaviour towards other races...why would you listen to such lyrics if this wasnt so? how many white power bands use the music of hiphop for instance? none...why not?...because its a race thing isnt it?

No i dont look past the talent of these bands as those bands arent talented...if they were talented they would be singing something worth listening to, or lyrics that involve something called real life.  If you want to listen to racists singing songs just because its metal then thats your choice.

I dont go out to find this music,but if someone recommends it to me, especially someone who from my point of view has pointed out some very decent bands(Not white power). I will definately check it out. Everyone has got a message to send out in music, whether it be bad or good, its music and how you interpret it, is down to the eye of the beholder. Ever thought that lyrical content isnt everything within a band? Ever thought some people might be searching for more than lyrics? Riffs? Solos? Double Bass Drums?

Eh theyw ay metal is.. thats why its so important to us. They write about what the feel and how they grew up and all the shit inbetween. If some people took their blinders off they would relize that they could relate a lot to metal.

95%+ of my music is non-white power, and 90% of that last 5% are more about pride than hate. Go read the Skrewdriver reviews on that site for a laugh. They're very much against white power music, and even against some music that can be seen as simply pro-white, like Graveland.

If you take away the 1/5 scores given to black metal for being "racist" (most isn't) or "bad vocals" (), then it's a very highly rated style of music.

Why don't you guys take your complaints to the Skrewdriver thread, instead of putting fallacious ad hominem attacks against me personally in this unrelated thread?  I may or may not be racist: the point is irrelevant to our musical discussion. I listen to many nationalist bands that aren't white. The Chasm is a great Aztec (I don't have the guts to dispute their claim of being Aztec warriors ) band from Mexico. Graveland is Polish/Slavic nationalist, and the Slavs suffered much under Hitler. Sigh, a Japanese band, is one of the most interesting and experimental bands in the genre. The whole nihilist/nationalist/"racist" philosophy has inspired a lot of great music across the world. I take it the cryptohumanists here don't listen to Wagner for being a German nationalist, or more likely not any Classical music at all, since it was full of racists and perverts (go watch Amadeus). It's simply impossible to appreciate a lot of good music without being exposed to some nationalism.
