Just wait till Kobe plays in Beijing....

So, you're basically saying that all these guys you'd sent to represent your country, home of the infamous NBA, were useless and Kobe will make it a better "team"?

You people need to understand the meaning of the word TEAM.

Remember the DREAM TEAM? The original one? That was a team... The best this world has seen.

Ever since, USA has not sent such a team to any international competition. All the players you've sent ever since, they're all playing for themselves, not for the team. That's why they've lost from a real team, a team that's been together for too many years. A team that made you realize that there's some good basketball outside the US...

And you can't say that we didn't play by your rules... 101 points is pure NBA to me...

Great result, but don't dream you would had had a chance against the USA if the overpayed morons would had played with a little heart. They played like Brazil in the football World Cup "We're here, now hand over the trophy"

Well, they played the way they played and they lost. Why should we dream? You're the "dream team"...

Next time you send a team, make sure you send players who need the damn cup. All these players you sent didn't care enough to win it. They already have their overpaying contracts with their teams, their sponsors and ofcourse all the coverage from the press. That's why they lost...

And as I said before, you need a team that plays like a team. Not like 10-12 highly paid stars that travelled half the world to to play for themselves and not for the team.

You're absolutely right and this has been the case for six years.  At this point I would take some college dudes anyday.  At least in college, team work is set above individual goals.

Well, well, well...Spain won the mundobasket 2006? peace beer

Eventhough start Pau Gasol pulled out for the final game due to injury, Spain beat Greece in the final. Greece scored not even half the points they did against the US in the semi-final.

We deserved this win. Spain didn't lose one single game throughout the entire tournament, beating a former World champ (Argentina), a former Olympic champ (Serbia) and a former European champ (Lithuania) on the way to the final...and we even beat Germany too in the first round matches...

This is Spain's most important win in our basketball history.

Congrats to Spain.

Unfortunately for us, Spain were on their best day, and we were on our worst.

I'm glad though that we won the second place in the biggest basketball tournament in the world.

I was actually surprised Greece made it that far... Tongue

(kidding, kidding....I know Greece's won a few Eurochampionships in the past 15 years or so...plus, there are some good clubs there)

USA is very very far from that amazing Dream Team of Barcelona 92, but anyway, we all know that THAT is not the best team that USA can have, and of course, those are not the best american players.

Carmelo Anthony is a joke. Where's Kobe? Wheres Iverson? Where's Shaq?

USA needs Reggie Miller back  love
