You must be the younger member here....

Good to know GNR appears to a younger audience.

But this topic has been discussed a million times.

See I disagree with axl has given us the chance to see gnr live today.... That basically tells me anyone axl selects and calls it gnr is gnr for you..

Sad thing is axl could have picked 7 other guys and everyone would be saying the same thing

GNR is NOT the same, so why get pissed.. I see nothing wrong with liking the old band more, that's what got most older people into gnr (all older people)

You can not expect a band that huge that changed so drastically to just be accepted by every older fan?

I still believe this band needs it's own identity already and needs to stop playing so much old plus LALD & KOHD.. Why start new to only keep doing the past then expect people to move on?

BRING OUT CD ALREADY!!!! beer

It's not that I know more or less then anyone else... it's just you get attached to what you grew up with.. The gnr I grew up with had axl slash izzy duff steve then it did get add ons and some people leaving but it always had a few constants... To see the gnr name up and only axl for me it's not the same experience... When a band does afd, it's kind of hard to just lose all those guys and still look at it the same.. Slash was such a face of gnr and known like axl that he needs to be in there for me... Every gnr song I love he does amazing solos in...

So true mikegiuliana!
Who would be surprised if Axl had chosen another name for his new band ? Not many people.

Id be surprised if he called his band something other than GNR because an established name is always going to be more of a money spinner, plus he doesnt really have to appeal to a new fan base.

Ive said it before, but this project isnt about the music, its about the money and recognition and trying to get one up on his former bandmates. Otherwise he'd have the decency to call it something else. And we wouldnt have had to wait such a ludicrous time for the album.

You're right! But it was rather from a musical point of view that I was saying that few people would be surprised.

Fair enough, I appreciate that every band has a right to experiment and broaden their musical horizons but when its a totally different line-up and musical direction then it should definitely be called something else.

It would be like James Hetfield recruiting a whole new band and playing lounge music but still calling it Metallica.
