Isn't a new idea putting "flashbacks" in a vid, someone did a video for Madagascar and used the same effect a few years ago over at another forum, in a fanmade film

I also had a The Blues video someone made with old footage, mostly from Paradise City and Yesterdays videos. The guy used the Pittsburgh 2002 audio...

I never said it was a new idea. It's not like I made it up. Flashbacks are a common technique in movies.

I never wanted you to be so full of anger. . . .

Great edit - I probably would have left the old members off of the video - I totally get where you were coming from when you put them in there, but it gives the impression that the old members are still in the band and wrote that song.

Overall I give it a B+  take the old members out and you have a A

Great job!

There's a lot of proshot stuff from RIR-Lisboa. Dunno why you didn't use it...

Also, you put Slash just when Robin shines, on the solo. IMO, that was a bit wrong... But the edition was pretty good, with some nice transitions.

The problem with using RIR stuff: quality I've seen so far is too low and when you stretch it to fit the same aspect ratio of the other clips the difference is very noticeable, but most importantly - all the RIR clips have that damn logo in the bottom right corner. As far as I know there aren't any clips online without the logos. I didn't want to mix clips with logos into clips without them.
There is the SIC TV broadcast, awesome quality (there is a dvd out there, on DIME, I guess), and the logo isn't so big and could be easily removed or hide.

I don't have an account on DIME and it won't let me register.  Huh That sucks. Do you know of any other sites that have the video feed without the logo?

i think you did a really good job on the video. what program did  you use to edit it? it is really well edited and i like all of the effects. awesome job. the only thing i might change (when more footage becomes available) is show more of the new band during the solos and stuff. but i understand that you dont want to put shitty footage in there just for the sake of having the new band in it. its hard to find that footage so i think you did a great job putting the whole thing together.

Nice vid but is it just me or does the new version of the Blues just drag like a motherfucker?

The RIR 3 version is so flawless and amazing.

now it just kind of bores me................. nervous

The RIR3 version is far from being flawless.

That's actually the Boston version from 2002 in the video.

Personally it's my favorite performance of the song. RIR3 was good, but I prefer the '02 version (the '06 version has a different opening - no guitars - which I don't like as much).

Thanks. I used Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 to edit this. If you are on a Mac, a (better) equivalent would be Final Cut Pro, which was used to edit the movie "Cold Mountain" among others. Premiere 2.0 has some cool features that I like, but I find Final Cut to be more reliable most of the time. It is unfortuante that at this time it is not available for Windows and is only supported by the Apple platform.

Premiere is good, but it needs After Effects to have some cool adds. IMO, the difference is because Premiere works on Windows and that pretty much kills a lot of its power. If Final Cut would be avaliable for Windows, it would have the same problem.

Yeah but the tempo and the way Axl sings the opening verse is AMAZING and has yet to come even close to duplicating it and his in ear monitor wasnt even working.

So throw in all the new additions but just speed it back up.
