With their live shows. Dont get me wrong, im sure GNR still put on a great show, not bitching about that, I just wish they would change shit up a little and play different songs. Metallica do this and I think it adds an extra excitement to the show.
Take their first 3 shows from this summer tour. Im going to post the setlists to show you what I mean. And the thing is GNR used to do this, I wish they would go back to it.
1st show
Creeping Death Fuel Wherever I May Roam For Whom the Bell Tolls Fade to Black Battery Master of Puppets The Thing That Should Not Be Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Disposable Heroes Leper Messiah Orion Damage, Inc. - - - - Sad But True Nothing Else Matters One Enter Sandman - - - - Last Caress Seek and Destroy
2nd show
Creeping Death Fuel Wherever I May Roam The God That Failed The Unforgiven Battery Master of Puppets The Thing That Should Not Be Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Disposable Heroes Leper Messiah Orion Damage, Inc. - - - - Sad But True Nothing Else Matters One Enter Sandman - - - - So What Seek and Destroy
The differences between these two shows is they didnt play Fade To Black, For Whom The Bell Tolls and Last Caress from the first show, and replaced them with The God That Failed, The Unforgiven and So What
3rd show
Motorbreath Fuel Wherever I May Roam New Song The Unforgiven Battery Master of Puppets The Thing That Should Not Be Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Disposable Heroes Leper Messiah Orion Damage, Inc. - - - - Sad But True Nothing Else Matters One Enter Sandman - - - - Commando (with Avenged Sevenfold on vocals) Seek and Destroy
Then on this third show they opened with Motorbreath instead of Creeping Death, and played a new song and Commando (with the guys from Avenged Sevenfold).
To me when they change it up like this you never know what you are going to get, and its makes each show exciting. GNR have fallen into this pattern of playing basically the same setlist every night. Give or take a couple songs but they are pretty much the same songs being played everynight. If they would throw in Dont Cry, Yesterdays, Perfect Crime, Dead Horse, songs like that on different nights, it would make the show so much more exciting.
Again, im not bashing GNR, I would love to see this new band whatever they play, but its just getting way to repetitive, so some minor adjustments would mean so much. Just a different song each night would be fine. Something rare or not often played.
Anyone else agree?
