It's not just Axl i feel bad for ,it's the other band members. How do you think it makes Finck and Stinson feel when some fans are screaming for Slash and Duff. It's like the current GnR's are being haunted by the ghost of oldGnR's.

I just think it's going to be funny in an ironic way if the majority of foreign press gives Gn'R bad reviews while the American press up to this point has been very positive, and excited for the most part as to what Axl will do next...

they're playing tons of old material what do you expect.. Chants for some strangers onstage. Not everyone loves replacements of loved members that were on all those great albums

Maybe we can all get some group therapy to get over our anger.

On topic: The press isn't too positive, but from I've heard of people who were there the show rocked. Now, the press writes whatever they need to write to sell more papers, and since I'm not Spanish I have no idea how reliable these papers are. GNR always was a band the press loves to hate, and showing up 2 hours late with a whole new line-up after a failed 2002 tour gives the press more ammunition. I will hold my judgement till Saturday night, so I can see for myself how much they suck / rock.

I think someone should whisper in Axl's ear that showing up ridiculously late when you have done NOTHING for fourteen years is a really bad idea.  You have absolutely zero goodwill built up.  This is not 1991, you are not the biggest rock band in the world, show up on time for God's sake.  Even at the Hammerstein shows, especially the 17th when he came on obscenely late, people were getting really, really pissed off.  And that's at shows where the crowd is made up of the supposed "diehards."  People have lives that don't revolve around your band that they haven't even seen for fourteen years and most are not gonna be real happy with a show that ends at 2 in the morning.  Absolutely no reason for this nonsense.

WTF is this stupid discussion about axl showing up late? Everbody knows that if you go to a Guns show they will not play on time. And where the fuck is the difference if the start playing at 10.30 or midnight? Goddamn everybody should be happy that they saw a good show.
As far as the punks in the press are concerned. They already knew before the show that they gonna sink Axl and co., so they just used his showing up as a lame excuse to dump him even more. Who the hell cares? Can`t people, the fans, everybody who is into rock music just be happy that one of the biggest icons in rock reappeared.

So please everybody stop bitching for a while and enjoy the moment...who knows when they will tour again! Everybody would prefer a reunion but there is nothing we can do about it. If you are a die hard slash fan then the fuck go to a VR show.

Sorry about this rant, but this is really driving me up the wall. Axl, the management definetely should be criticized for some things, but please once they finally get their asses up and go on  fuckin huge tour would people stop complaining at least for a while and just enjoy the new band?!!!

I agree that people should give the "new" band a chance, but showing up that late is just disrespectful to the fans.  People have paid good money for tickets (and not cheap tickets, either), why would they want to stand around for two hours waiting for the band?
Axl, come along to the countries, people want to see you, but for heaven's sake, respect the fans enough to stick to the time on the ticket.

Absolutly agree with you. Fantastic post.

I also think that Spanish press already knew before the show that they gonna try to bash on Axl.

We should calm down a bit. Spanish press historically used to ''destroy'' GNR in its reviews. In 1992, GNR people had to give tickets for free to avoid an scandal, because the Benito Villamarin Stadium was almost empty. The spanish press that bashes on Axl and Guns N' Roses is, at the same time, the one that pays more possitive attention to ''La Oreja De Van Gogh'' and David Bisbal and forgets about Joaquin Sabina or Jos? Carreras.

One bad step from six. That's all. Good reviews in the four shows at Hammerstein, 1 at Plumm, and this bad one. Axl chose the wrong country for being 2 hour late and to do 3 shows.

Why don't people get it... just don't show up til 10:30 or so and you won't have to wait. Unless your a hardcore bullet for my valentine (or whoever else is opening) fan then just don't show up. In ny I heard people bitching "i've been waiting for three hours".... uh why did you show up at 8pm for a gnr show.

Whether its right or wrong axl hasn't changed his behavior in 20 years so why would you expect anything different now...

and to top it off there were technical problems...
