Tried to make the TWAT intro in Reason3 from what I could hear at the mp3 from the 12th... Did it sound anything like this?

shit, id help you out but im at work (ON A SATURDAY!!!?!). ill check it out when i get home.

i tell you one thing though, that song sounded a million times better live, a lot fully, and the intro, hell all the keyboard and programming parts were so much cooler than on the demo. hopefully the true cd track will be closer to what we all saw on friday.

that also goes for chinese democracy (except for the lyrical screw up on friday). i really like the way they played that at these shows as opposed to 02.

This sounds very good. However, I think at one part you MIGHT have a low note wrong.

I also tried to connect the new intro with the demo, and it sounds ok, but lacks some drums and obviously guitars...

I combined it with the demo and it sounds pretty good I think, but probably not as good as the real thing. Why can't there be a good version of TWAT live? crying

Why can't there be a studio album with a studio version of TWAT on?  Roll Eyes Tongue

Funny how there's more GN'R in Velvet Revolver then there is in Guns N' Roses.

Spirit,

Thanks for making this thread.  There Was a Time was my highlight of the show.  I was in Mezz2, and didn't catch the whole intro. until I heard it on the jazjme audio.  It was sooo freaking cool!  How 'bout that last line Axl sings with no instruments interfering in the background?!?!  Even the drunk karaoke'ers shut the hell up when Axl let it out!  That one line, the last words of TWAT, makes me jealous as hell of the folks at Rosario Dawson's birthday party.  yes  I've got one word for that intro. which I hope to hell stays, because it's a perfect foil to the sentiment of the song...ethereal.    love

I agree...the intro to TWAT was very cool. Although it's my favorite out of the leaks, I'm not too keen on the intro. Live, however, it sounded more orchestral, more atmospheric. Gave the song a wonderful mood right from the get-go. I can remember, however, Axl clearly having trouble with his mic during the end of the song (the first few "I would do anything for you" parts). In the end he came back 'online', but in sounded a bit like the end of Oh, My God in Rio (aka. "...did they do that on purpose or was it a screw up?").

In any event, the song is amazing, both live and on the demo. Is the one song (next to The Blues) that I'm looking forward to hearing mastered the most!
