Sorry but i need to know something. I'm goin' crazy. Is there anybody here who thinks, like me, that this is not Guns n' roses?
Let me explain this please...
I love Axl Rose. You can believe me when i tell you that i've been a really pasionated fan of this band. I love their music, They're the best band ever to me without any doubt. I have all their albums, a lot of bootlegs, magazines where they appeared, I started to play guitar and bass influenced by them (Slash and Duff) ... And I love Guns n' roses!!!!!!!!!!
But I can't understand how people identify this band with Guns n' roses. I love Axl Rose, and i love that, after all these years he's doin' music and concerts again. I like the leaks. But how can you call his band "Guns n' Roses"? Do you really think the should be call "Guns n' ROses"?. Do you really think that Axl rose is Guns n' roses?
Well, let me tell you another thing. Can you call a band "Metallica" only with James hetfield? or Rolling stones only with Jagger? or Aerosmith only with Tyler? Do you really think, for example, that Steven tyler is aerosmith? Sorry but i Can't
I've grown with these guys and I can't, I love Axl, but i can't I thought a lot of people do the same but In this forum i found out that a lot of people identify Guns n' roses with this new band and they also hate to talk about Duff, Slash...
Axl started guns n' roses
he own they name and the songs
all the other band member bailed on him (with the exception of dizzy)
so yes: Axl is in fact "Guns N' Roses"
Umm actually Axl was in Hollywood Rose with Izzy, they formed with Duff Tracii Gunns & some other drummer & thus why they called it Guns N Roses it was a combination. Then Tracii & teh drummer left Slash & Steve joined rest is history
I think what he's trying to say it isnt Guns N Roses, the same band that rocked the world during the late 80's & early 90's. That band i guess to the majority of the public is Axl & Slash, the other guys werent as charismatic i guess u could say. Its kinda like Axl & Slash were the McCartney & Lennon of Guns N Roses.
When the beatles broke up, did Paul McCartney take on the name & do covers of many beatles songs with new band mates. NO. Did Lennon do it. NO. Van Halen got away with changing lead singer & keeping the band name same with Black Sabbath ACDC & other bands coz for the most part MOST of the band was still in tact, just missed 1 member, albeit a major member
With these "Guns" its just Axl & i guess u could even be generious & count dizzy, theres like 6 different members now....thats a massive change & to many it isnt guns its just Axl Rose. Hell theres more original Guns & even a future addition to the group (Matt joined like Dizzy did) so if anythings theres more Guns N Roses in Velvet Revolver than the new "Guns N Roses"
Officially, he can own the name, the court of public opinion he cant own our opinion ears & believes & while i like the new leaked material....i cant call it Guns N Roses coz it just isnt, just as Velvet Revolver isnt Guns N Roses (or even STP). They're there own bands IMO & it doesnt mean they're shit, they're good or great, but they aint the same as the original Gunners to most, only ppl who say they are are the axl whorshippers & thats fine they can believe that, but again MOST WONT BUY IT!
