This case is as ridiculous as when Ozzy was taken to court because someone committed suicide and listened to Suicide Solution.

Too bad the prosecutor in this case doesn't know the song was written about Axl's dog hihi

The most ridiculous one Ive ever heard of is the civil suit against Judas Priest. A dude commited suicide and his parents toook JP to court alleging that their son was influenced by a supposed backward subliminal message in Better By You Better By Me. The subliminal message commanded their son to "do it".

It's like, who the fuck listens to music backwards for subliminal messages......didn't people used to say listening to Stairway to heaven" backwards you could clearly hear them say "hears to my sweet satan?" or some bullshit like that?  People need to get a grip on reality and look in the mirroe when assessing blame rather than try to pass it off on some other influence.

They're not accusing the song of "making" the guy kill her.

They're using it as evidence that he was CONSIDERING killing her.

So it's just one of circumstancial evidence to decide if the killing was accidental or intentional.

They're not blaming it on the song.

No big deal.

Him having downloaded November Rain as well makes the prosecutor's point weak as the two songs are contradictory. November Rain has a fairly positive message, certainly having nothing to do with killing someone. Maybe the dude just wanted to listen to some GNR and deleted Used to Love Her because he didn't like it. That being said, this guy is highly suspicious at best. Sounds like he did it to me, but all the evidence is very circumstantial. Also it sounds like the prosecution is suggesting that he shot himself four times in the chest. If he did I'm pretty sure forensics would show that. He would have gunpowder residue on his hands, the angle of the shots, etc. Also, after he shot himself four times in the chest he would have had to dispose of the gun and, if he was wearing gloves so his fingerprints wouldn't be on the gun, dispose of gloves too. Sounds like more than I could do if I just got shot four times in the chest. He sounds suspicious, but there doesn't seem to be any evidence against him.

This has happened so many times, people are always trying to lay the blame on something else: video games, horror movies, blah blah blah...  Roll Eyes

There was another case that involved "Used To Love Her", which happened  a year after Lies was released.  It was  similiar to this court case. People need to accept responsibilty for themselves and not blame it on music, movies,  video games, etc.

Some of you people just can't read. They are not saying the song made him kill her. They are accusing him of premeditated murder and this is one piece of evidence to try and prove it was premeditated. "Used To Love Her" was the only song he downloaded the day she was murdered (in fact it was hours before it) and was the only song deleted after the murder. They are saying he planned to murder her and he downloaded the song the day of her murder because it was about killing your loved one which he was about to do.

1/2 right.

He downloaded about 16 songs that day, "used to love her" being one of them.  It WAS the only song he deleted, though.
