The Aussie's here would know of this but two Australian miners are currently trapped underground and have been since April 25 following some seismic activity. One of their collegues was killed. The rescue effort has been ongoing and news is that they could be out by tomorrow morning. There has now been a pipe sent through the rock? and they were able to send some water and biscuits. One of them requested an ipod with the Foo Fighters on. Word got through to Dave Grohl who sent them a message that when they get rescued he will send them to a Foo Fighters show and have beers with them. Let's hope these guys finally get rescued out tomorrow?  |

I do hope they will be rescued very soon (and I really mean 'soon'), you wouldn't wish this on your worst enemy. Strange it's not on the news here. Usually these things will be reported on everywhere in the world, haven't seen anything on the Dutch news yet. Was away on holiday for a few days, maybe that's why. |

Unfortunately they didn't get out all weekend. The last couple of metres of rock have to be done by hand.. and they are describing it as 5 times harder than concrete. Maybe today who knows.

It's been very frustrating hearing about the miners in Beaconsfield. The 5 o'clock news just said that at best they will be out by tomorrow night. The poor things have been under ground since Anzac Day, yet the rescuers claim they still have a good sense of humour and are keeping their spirits up. Hopefully we'll hear some good news tomorrow  |

I cant imagine the conditions these poor guys are in. I think there is a small space next to the cage too between some large rocks.. not sure.
