Axl and the Fans - the perfect solution

Well, as we all know it's been an eventful few weeks in the whacky world of G'n'R and now the dust is settling after the NYC shows i wanna throw out some thoughts for you guys to comtemplate and discuss...

As this forum proves, there is a deep divide among the fans over old vs new Guns 'n' Roses and that is a BAD situation, but for me there is a simple solution for all. W.AXL ROSE should drop the G'n'R moniker and go solo! It's that simple folks and here's why. The gulf between the original guys and the new ones is massive, the only constant is AXL ROSE himself. Surely this guy is famous enough, respected enough and yes, talented enough to stand or fall under his own name now. It's a win win situation for everyone. The comparisons will stop. The new guys will be less derided and more respected as his backing band and whoever comes and goes will therefore be less scrutinized and compared. The new musical direction (of CD) will be less analyzed and the old stuff will be accepted because of Axl. Further to this the legacy and integrity of the original band will stay in tact. Remember this - Robert Plant doesn't rely on the Led Zep name to carry on, even when he tours with Jimmy Page. Seb Bach doesn't rely on the Skid Row connection so why can't AXL do the same... I say go solo and al the negativity will stop. DISCUSS!

Remember this - Robert Plant doesn't rely on the Led Zep name to carry on, even when he tours with Jimmy Page.

And you remember this.
The mastermind of that band was Jimmy Page who formed the band to carry the name of yardbirds when he was the sole remaining member of it. This version of yardbirds toured Europe. Then the band was forced to change the name legally. So it was renamed to Led zeppelin as we know it.

Strengly enough some yardbirds fans are bitter about jimmy's success.

Had jimmy owned the yardbirds name, we would known zep songs as yardbirds songs. And probably the early yardbirds tunes would be heard more.

Now axl, the mastermind of GNR owns the name. Need I say more?
